This is the best electric toothbrush instructional video I've seen to date. The presenter, a dental hygienist, provides many important detailed instructions that I haven't seen in other videos. Extremely helpful. See also her second electric toothbrush video, "Electric toothbrushing with toothpaste," which contains additional important tips. Thank you, Naomi!
Oh God this was the MOST helpful brushing guide for me!! Thank you so much! You addressed the issue of back molars and the out of line tooth, including brush heads for them.. That I WISHED someone talked about! And the tutorial was so helpful on actual teeth! Brilliant job!
Great videos - midway through this one I nipped onto Amazon and bought a discounted Oral B Pro 3 - so thank you for all your advice and excellent videos - I am just working my way through. I have learnt more in the last hour than I have in all my years attending NHS dentists. Also, given the current state of NHS dentistry I feel that these types of videos should be compulsory!!!! Sorry for that little bit of a rant 🤓🥰🤗😘
You are a true lifesaver ♥️✨👏🏼 Thank you so much for showing how it’s done and it’s so much easier to see how you brush your own teeth with it… whereas other channels use fake teeth and what not 😫
Really good. I have been using them for years 😊 In my manual it is written that you should never leave the electric toothbrush in the charger all the time. That will reduce the life of the battery. Just charge it full only when it is low on battery. Many toothbrushes have a low battery indicator so you should have plenty of time to charge 😊
That’s brilliant Naomi. Thank goodness you told me about your video this week. I had not been angling my toothbrush properly. Hopefully my teeth will be much better when I see you in six months! Love the matching hair and toothbrush. 😂
I just want to say that I found this video helpful for the reason that I'm actually obsessive with brushing my teeth and can take up to 20 minutes a night on and I needed some clarity that I don't need to brush like a psycho each night, I don't even eat anything sugary. Other videos don't do it as they'd actually do it, it's either rushed or demonstrating purely in one place which doesn't help my compulsions lol.
Very helpful tutorial on how to use an electric toothbrush, My dentist has recommended that i go electric so this video was extremely helpful in preparation to transition from manual to electric. I will be purchasing my electric toothbrush today.
the tip about avoiding “whitening” toothpastes 🙌🙌 !!!!! for years i used whitening toothpaste since that was the one that my dad always bought, and i noticed when i was 14 that i had cracks on the surfaces of my front 2 teeth!!! in addition, the tips of my teeth were getting very transparent. i was horrified, but when i looked online on how to repair it, every article said that it’s impossible to repair enamel. ever since i switched to a 1450ppm or 0.32% sodium fluoride toothpaste with a manual toothbrush, i could see my teeth becoming more opaque! i just tried an electric oral b toothbrush for the first time today and it was a great experience! it really cut down the time i spent cleaning my teeth. since back when i used a manual toothbrush, i would spend ages making sure i didn’t miss any spots, which meant more wear and tear of the gum and enamel.
@@bubblekittea colgate, macleans, oral b are ones i used to use. any brand with whitening on the packaging. they're way more abrasive than is healthy for your teeth
@@naomifarrell-teethandplant5187 Oh, thank you for asking. I am now getting very comfortable with using my new Oral B toothbrush and because of your video I went ahead and ordered the head with the tiny bristles for the small area where the wisdom teeth are creating a deep pocket. I feel like this does such a better cleaning job than the manual toothbrush. I haven't quite managed not to get toothpaste all over my mirror, though, LOL.
great demo. getting my first electric toothbrush after my dentist visit. I do caution folks about flouride toothpaste as now here in the states there are other health risks in using flouride; toothpaste and in the water supply. do your own research
Thank you for the tip about finding a smooth toothpaste! I always felt like the fuzz on my teeth wouldnt go away unless I scrubbed with a gritty toothpaste, but I've just bought an electric pro 2 range oral b brush and the sensi thin heads so hopefully no much scrubbing away. I've studied this video and I'm ready to make the switch after 25 years of manual!
People whom are thinking of switching, get an Oral-b iO 6! The cheaper non pressure sensor electric brushes are way too rough and hard! The iO 6 has Bluetooth connectivity, screen of all settings and an AI that measures where you're brushing. Try adding your toothpaste onto the bitting parts of your teeth - BEFORE you brush your teeth. Also, get a non SLS based toothpaste - IF you have gum/mouth peeling. Sodium Sulfate is notorious for causing severe skin reactions.
Glad to know I have been doing it all wrong this entire time lol. I've always had a Medium Manual Toothbrush and I've always brushed my teeth for like 5-8min scrubbing very hard... Makes me wonder if that has been a factor in my gum decay over time. I just now received my Oral B Pro 7000, I think it's the same one as you have, but mine is the Black Version, it's on the charger now. With this info and my new toothbrush, hopefully I can start brushing my teeth correctly and get a better overall oral health. Thanks for this video.
Thank you so much. I just changed to electronic toothbrush 3 days ago. It feels so clean omg. I agree that our tongue can actually feel the smoothly cleaner teeth and gum. Thank you so much!! I made a mistake by touching the vibrating brush to my teeth. My teeth feel oversensitive with any vibration now. Hope it'll go away soon.
I’m a dental hygienist, and I ask if there’s any furry teddy bears hiding back there to children. 😂Also I say if it feels like your tooth is wearing a sweater (jumper) than you need to brush again.
Okay, I thought I was using my Oral B Pro 1000 correctly, but just found out at my perio maintenance cleaning that I was missing a LOT of spots. I felt like I was being scolded and Im a 46 year old adult. :( Its hard to see if I am angling the brush head right without spraying toothpaste everywhere. Im also told that its absolutely okay to do two cycles of 2 minutes without damaging my enamel. Just feel I cant do this right and my gums will never get better. :/
Sorry nosey questions here Do you have white fillings or none at all ? Are dentist or hygienists allowed to or can repair there own teeth or would still need another person? Can your rose gold tooth or other plug in tooth brush allow regular batteries option 🔋instead of plug 🔌
Hi Naomi, Thanks for the helpful video! I usually use mouthwash after I brush (alcohol free) . If I use mouthwash after I spit out the toothpaste, will it rinse away the fluoride and undo the good work of brushing? Would you recommend using mouthwash and if so how and when would you use it ? thanks
Excellent video; thank you! I understand the reasoning behind not rinsing after brushing, but I've rinsed my whole life and have seen tiny bits of food come out. If I only spit out the toothpaste and not also rinse, those food particles will still be in my teeth causing plaque. So then that kind of ruins the whole point of flossing and brushing. Just like when you use a moisturizing soap and rinse your face, the moisturizing properties are still on your face. I would think the fluoride is still on your teeth after rinsing, or at least on your teeth long enough while brushing for two minutes.
Hi! I just switched from a manual to an electric toothbrush. I’ve tried one in the past but for whatever reason the insides of my lip kept peeling and getting cut. I angle it at 45 but I still get the peelings. Also I’m not sure if I have to get used to it but the pressure from electric brushes seem so much for my teeth. For reference I have the sonic 4100. I think I will try to find a circle head to see if that makes a difference, because it makes more sense the way you’ve explained it.
Difficult to say why... try a sensitive brush head too and a gentle setting. Oral B toothpaste seems to upset some mouths too so maybe look at this....
Great video, so did you say you never rinse your teeth at all after brushing them, or you can do it after a while? If it can be done after a while, how many minutes should this be
Hey, i’ve been brushing my teeth like this and taking it more seriously when a part of my gums had gotten a bit tender and hurt when the bristles brush over them. They don’t bleed but it’s really irritating and painful, any tips? 😢
Thanks for the useful video! Are there any other causes of gum recession? I only have it on my lower teeth, but I have an oral b toothbrush and it doesn't light up red so I don't think I'm brushing too hard. Also have no underlying health conditions. What could be causing it? 🤔
Many things cause recession: orthodontic appliances (moving bone through teeth can), grinding/clenching and 0f course periodontal disease. There maybe genetic links in the family. My Father for example has a very clean mouth but still gets recession. Hope this helps. To monitor take a photo and compare every 6/12.
Is it okay if I start off with flossing, then mouth wash, then electric toothbrush, then spit and no rinse? Or should I cut out Colgate mouthwash altogether? Thanks!
I also was holding my toothbrush wrong bad habits are hard to break getting in between the teeth and gums to remove those bacteria ridden pockets are a must
This was perfect! But i do have a question if someone sees this 😅, so, i floss before washing yes? But i have to swish a crater my wisdom tooth left 😅, if i can't rinse, when do i swish? Before washing? Or like wash just that part, swish and then wash it all? Tnkx! Lots of love.
Hi Naomi, very instructive and helpful video thank you. What do you thing about sonic ones? I am wondering if the Oral Bs are too harmful in the long ride, and "eating" the gums.
Hi there, thank you 😊 I am just getting a sonically toothbrush to trial, so I will let you know. I think it depends on what setting you have them on, how long you are brushing for and if you are pressing too hard!
