@@chillywilly7299 Here's a blast from the past! "Blues Image-Ride Captain Ride", this came on the radio while we drove around Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, and PV, it was on man!!!! PARTY! I've got emotional when they finally got inducted and played this tune live for the R'n R' hall of fame crowd. The kings of metal finally got the recognition for they incredible body of work.
This song along with its video brings back memories of my childhood because my mom used to put it on TV at full volume, thank you mom for giving me the best childhood and this good taste in music.
Stockholm syndrome in a way. Same situation with my father actually. I hated when he rocked Ozzy Osbourne at full volume in our small apartment being drunk. Now I love Ozzy Osbourne and heavy metal overall.
Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, White/Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Godsmack, Dethklok, as a few to check out if you haven't. Also broadcasting your age on the internet might draw some, umm undesirable people. Or maybe you work for the FBI. Either way, enjoy the metal. No one can destroy the metal -Tenacious D
The exploding head as Halford badassly points him out...always make my day. Such an iconic and pure Heavy Metal song, always enjoy listening this one every now and then.
I remember seeing this on MTV at 16 years old and being completely mesmerized by the song and video. The powerful solo by Glen TIpton, the lasers, and the whole concept of the video. This song was like a HUGE middle finger to authoritarianism in some dystopian world, where control is everything....until Rob Halford has had enough. The amount of C4 in that mannequin is astonishing and is the perfect solution to the overlords' monitoring of their "noise pollution". Head blows off, pants fall down. Rock on, Judas Priest!
My favorite Priest album is Sad Wings Of Destiny, but Defenders and Screaming are next in my personal preferences. Shit, almost Priest álbuns is amazing. And a heavy metal band that made an album like Firepower, after almost half century of career, really deserves the title of "Metal Gods".
@owenbevans6062 excellent observation owen. Sad wings of destiny was the 2nd album i ever bought, tommy was the first. I bought it in 78 when i wad 10, ripper. Thank you for sharing. Viva priest
Saw the new iPhone 15 commercial & this song was featured. It brought back so much memories & I had to look it up. Thanks for loading this up! Such an AWESOME song!!!
First live show, Priest and Kiss way back in 79. Got hooked on metal then, I’m a young 58 now and not a damn thing has changed, metal head then and I am now more so than ever. Thank you Judas Priest.
Lets face it, this is the best metal song from the entire decade of the 80s, with awesome and provocative album cover artwork, with all lyrical and vocal and instrumental pistons firing with perfect sonic intensity.
The only song I play louder than this is "Kiss I Love It Loud"... I dont like Kiss... but I like that one tune. Oh, and Turbo Lover... that one is awesome too!
Judas Priest is the greatest metal band of all time! Even this song, You’ve Got Another Thing Coming is such a powerful song! And Glenn and KK have played some of the best guitar solos of all time!
9 year old me was introduced to heavy metal and Judas Priest when my older brother would blast this song and album from our parents basement. I didn't understand what it meant at the time but I did know that I liked it...
Rob Halford was the proverbial shot in the arm that Judas Priest needed to get their career going. He gets his kicks the unconventional way, but his voice kicks us in the face with this song.

At least we have youtube to bring back some of the memories of the best decade ever.

After British Steel, a heavy metal masterpiece, Screaming for Vengeance is the best album by Judas Priest
Tony_montana14 I completly agree
Tony_montana14 Defenders of the Faith is better imo
Everyone forgets stained class

Fact: JP's album British steel is what launched every 80's metal band. Love them all, but credit due to priest
Sad Wings of Destiny did it in 1976. My first taste however was Sin After Sin in 1977. Earth shaking for a 10 year old!

Ya, about the most iconic metal tune on earth, they even played this in nightclubs, never gonna get tired of this
80s was such an awesome era for any genre of music... *ESPECIALLY FOR METAL!!!*
Yeah I agree. The only music genres that didn't peak in the 80s were rap and hip hop but every other genre peaked in the 80s.
