Nice! Have you machined a curved truss rod slot in a guitar neck? And which version of Fusion 360 are you using? Personal or full functionality? Thanks!
Great video, thanks for everything you share with us newbie modelers and CNC guitar builders! I have a question about the path extension setting - would it be possible to give this a negative value in order to cut ‘blind’ fret slots (pseudo-bound fretboard, basically)? Or is there a simple way to offset the projected sketch fret lines in from the edge of the board in the model?
Thanks much! I think it would be much easier to just reduce the length of the feet slot spline in the sketch before you project them to the radiused surface and sink them and then don’t do a path extension. The tool will then just follow the shorter path and give you a blind slot.
Hi, your videos are incredible and have helped me build the confidence to start my own CNC guitar project. One question: you mentioned you are a bit aggressive with 8 passes per slot, what changes would you make to be more conservative to preserve bit life? Thanks!
Ok when I first started this project fusion 360 let me porject the curves to the face of the fret board. but would not let me move the fret lines down into the fretboard. So then I closed it, restared fusion and now it wont even let me project the fret lines to the board?
BOTH those problems likely have to do with the order sketches are created in. sorry if you have already tried this but you need a new sketch to project and move in - hope this makes sense!
I drew two more fretboards and no matter what order I do them and it won’t let me do anything with them the crazy thing is I draw entire neck and I’ve used all these procedures before and it let me do it

Wow such a good video I don’t even understand how you are so cool
Thanks Anna Maney! THAT IS SOOOO SWEET!

Oh just make the maximum axial offset pass less than 1/2 the bit diameter
Thank you som much!
