As a Padres fan I get extremely pissed when Machado makes contact and then basically jogs to first. He grounded out into three double plays in the last two days and not once did he put any effort in trying to beat out the throw.
You can't be serious.. that was the most routine out ever. I would understand if it was a ground ball that went past first base, but it was a ground ball to the pitcher...

What doesn’t make sense to me, is not sprinting to first base no matter what. Even if there’s a possibility of injury or overextended oneself, sprinting to the base not only applies pressure to the players, but it makes it a lot tighter and a lot of times the runner can make it.

Apparently, he knew everything would be downhill from there and started playing like it. It's a tossup between Bryant and him for the title of most disappointing member of the 2016 Cubs.
