This really is becoming one of my favorite UA-cam channels. I actually never have an intention of owning a boat, but the sheer joy of these tours makes me happy.
I don't know much about yachts, but I watch your channel from time to time. I like that this model puts function before form while still looking high quality and put together.
Take a shot every time Nick expresses how this is a "serious little ship" you'll be drunk within 60 seconds. lol. I like this boat. The idea of loading up, filling up and then away you go. Slow steady speed and explore the world. Great video as always from Aquaholic.
This might be your first haunted boat tour, seeing that cabinet in the master suite open by itself at around minute 9:04 was kinda creepy 😂😂. Keep up the great work Nick, these smaller blue water boats are my favorite!
Hi Nick. Confession : I have a massive Soft Spot for the Hardy Boats. My Father owned a much smaller Hardy, and we had years of great times going out on it. Several times, the weather turned absolutely filthy and rough on us, so muggins me was put on the wheel, while dad concentrated on worrying for both of us and anyone else on board. Needless to say his Hardy just took everything in its stride, and there was no problem getting back into sheltered water and the mooring, before we disappeared into the Pub for a meal and some beer. Great boats, and thanks for the look around. Only things lacking for me, are a Mast and Sails (I’m a dyed in the wool Bermuda Sloop guy ) and propane gas cooking with an induction hob backup. Propane gas cooking frankly takes a heck of a lot of beating to be honest. Best Wishes, and thanks again. Bob. PS the next Sailboat is finally on the horizon. 👍🌟🌟🌟⛵️🏴🇬🇧❤️
Propane is also a hazard on a boat, which is, why many tends to avoid it today. Fires started in the galley is actually the most common full write off cause of live aboard boats. I also prefer sails, but I would consider Alubat Ovni, Allures and Garcia, when talking monohuls, and Neel, when talking multihuls. Garcia has also made a crazy nice catamaran in aluminium, but it is also crazy expensive.
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv I’ve lived with superb Gas cooking benefits for over fifty years, and tbh, the only things I have burned, have been cheese on toast tragedies. To me, it’s the quality of the cooking with Propane that simply can’t be matched and is only exceeded by charcoal fuelled BBQ’s - which comes close to being matched by Propane BBQ with a Smoker Box. Solid Fuel Rayburn and Aga Cookers are fairly decent for cooking with, but you don’t have the moist heat or instant heat control that you have with Pripane. Side note - Town Gas was really good too tbh. Service and maintain cookers, hoses and Gas Bottles properly, and Propane really isn’t a problem tbh. If you aren’t competent enough to pay attention to shat you are doing ? Rely on a Fire Blanket and Extinguisher in reach perhaps ? You will always get an idiot who goes looking for a Gas Leak with a Lit Candle I suppose ? Darwin moments are supposed to have an overall benefit for our Species intelligence after all. 🤔🌟🌟🌟👍
Delighted to see Cockwells influence following the take over. Hardys sea keeping reputation is legendry and now top level interior design. It bodes well for yards future with this impressive boat.
I really loved this boat. Very practical, solid and stable, no extra frills. This will still be a classic 30 years from now. Surprisingly small engine compartment. Seemed an awkward entry as well. I guess when you're dealing with 50 feet, sacrifices must be made. Lol. But still a great tour, Nick.
7:13 huge miss the way they hinged that washing machine cabinet door. All the laundry is coming from downstairs, you need to bring it upstairs to clear the door, open the door, then put it in.
Dave always seems such a great chap, and very supportive of you, Jack and of course Harry's Goodwin adventures. This is the perfect boat for anyone who's looked at a 46' Botnia and wanted a bit more of everything. That includes me.
Having bigged that up for all its sea keeping characteristics, thats a nice interior. You dont lose anything really and you gain that ability to stay out regardless. Very nice.
Now, see, thats what i mean. This is not a floating terrace or caravan, this is a ship! Strong and beautiful, in my mind the best and made my hart skip a beat. Fantastic, and, great tour, thank you again.
Congrats on 500k! I’ve been watching for years and it’s great to see how the channel has evolved and inspired so many people to get out on the water. My favorite tours are the sailing yachts, if you have a chance please film some more!
A boater's boat, but I found it very stylish. I had hoped the engines were a little more accessible for a baby-explorers yacht, but overall, very complete. For those of us not looking for a gin palace, this is an excellent choice! Thanks for the tour!
I don't use the word perfect very often but it applies to this boat for me. I could live on this very easily and disappear for months without issue. I'd probably convert the smaller cabin into a dry storage but wow. This checks literally every box I have! Great tour Nick. I'd love to see the 2 cabin version just out of curiosity though. Thanks friend.
I do have a massive soft spot for a Hardy and love this with a couple of question marks. Firstly I can't see a way of getting a bimini to work on the flybridge and secondly that engine room access is horrible, trying to fix anything under way would be so difficult. Apart from those things it's spot on. Fab tour as usual Nick, thanks.
Hi Nick, That is a good looking yacht from Hardy the Hardy 50 a hole new design from them. For long range cruising along the coast, the salon dining with open galley looks great and yes the forward sloop windows very nice at the bridge 3 cabins below with 2 bathrooms but the fly bridge is stunning Thanks again Nick a great show⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow! They've certainly pulled out all the stops on this bruiser, nick a definately robustly built boat for the descerning skipper that's meant to go places in safety. I wonder if that huge lazerette could if you wanted it to be, made into another cabin rather than, which for someone who doesn't intend all that stowage to be used for paddleboards and other toys that would never be used for this? Another brilliant tour nick of this catagory "A" Hardy/ Cockwells ocean going cruiser.
Nick you are a machine. You give me a yacht to view everyday. Thank you for all your efforts. I like the proper functional yachts. I just realized why I don't care for the transformer yachts! I'm a go and do things kinda person, not sit, lounge and hob knob. Well I will lounge but it's not my go to. Therefore my vessel has to be capable and ready to go when I want to go. Transformer yachts need to wait for weather windows. I was having a discussion with a friend about Bahamas crossings and how I've never crossed in less than a 2-4ft seaway because I don't wait for perfect weather. It's also the reason I "cruise" a sportfish convertible instead of a fancy condo boat. Haha
Really like the Hardy boats and the work of Cockwells, having a boat that can go anywhere in (broadly) anything is worth the compromise on internal volume. Thanks Nick for another great tour and look forward to the next one 😀
Thanks for the tour of a robust little yacht, Nick. Looks like a good vessel for serious cruisers who wish to venture into rugged areas. The one thing that surprises me a little is the slightly awkward engine access. One would think an owner of a yacht like this would check the engines frequently and the clunky arrangement with a table on top of the hatch would not be fun to maneuver in any kind of a seaway.
That’s a great “little ship”, nice fixtures and fittings with a nice layout. Love the helm position and looks nice from the dock with nice lines for the type of boat. Great tour as always Nick thank you.
If you like this check out Nordhavns. The Nordhavn 59 CP for example is also a semi-displacement hull. Theyre also serious cruising boats, even more serious than Hardy's imo especially the full-displacement 'havns.
Hi, a great little ship to spend the summer in , from the Solent to the Scilly Isles and all the places in between . Yes please, and another interesting video .
Thats a really nice boat. Hardy's were always a thinking mans boat back through the years with spartan functional interiors. One thing missing though, the big signature rope fender all the way round the hull.

This is my style boat. Can handle the hard stuff but still give you enough room to live comfortably. The haunted master bedroom with the cabinets that pop open by themselves is a little bit concerning LOL caught that when you were going into the master bedroom.
Love the sea keeping focus and overall boat. Tight engine room especially with those engines and certainly wouldn’t ever want to have to replace them aside the cost.
Proper proper boat, everything done right and nothing done for show. I hope to see this one in twenty years and I bet she looks great even after the life she deserves.
You know, Nick, I came to the conclusion years ago that if I actually had the money to purchase a yacht, I would never be able to make a decision. Too many great options out there! 😂( it must make you crazy sometimes with all that you get to experience and see? 🤷♂️) Keep the unique ones coming, brother! 👍

Wanted to congratulate you on 500k Subscribers! You always bring us tours of such lovely boats, and it's wonderful to see your channel continuing to grow!
Excellent, love Cat A boats. Really well put together. Those engines look a bit of a nightmare to work on - need a real skinny young engineer contortionist 🤣One thing that always puts me off is the nice big transom but then a big gap to let in seawater in roughish seas. Just me I know it isn't an issue. Thanks Nick a good tour as always, like the watch 😁
What a great yacht, arguably the perfect blend between modern/traditional... shame my student loan won't cover it! Big congrats on 500K, you definitely deserve it and looking forward to the summer boating videos!
I’d need a lot more personally, plus plenty of places to brace my hips against.i suppose a customer can specify what they personally need, Just like Island Packet do with their Comprehensive basic options construction list most of which are available at no extra cost. I am disabled and have some pretty serious changes needed to accommodate my needs. That’s why Island Packet turn out to be far cheaper for me to have a New Sailboat, rather than the massive customisation costs I need to add to most second hand Sailboats.Luckily there are a few that I can get modified with low cost extras well enough for me to be comfortable and safe, with easy boat handling. They do have to be a bit larger sailboats than I would really like though, which increases annual costs. Ho Hum. Best Wishes.Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟🏴🇬🇧⛵️
Needs Fiddles arround the Hob, Generator in front left of engine room - very hard to do checks on that important item. Should be in Lazarette. Only two " Gripes" and both easily fixable. A very nice 50 footer
That's quite the impressive vessel! A couple things struck me: it seems rare to see the full set of helm controls replicated at both stations. Often there's one display less, and sometimes other differences. Not here! I was surprised, given the ocean-going intent, at the lack of grab rails in the salon (unless they're hidden in the lighting rails or something). And also surprised by how tight the engine room is. It seems like access to the oil filters on the port engine might be tough. But otherwise, it's excellent!
Brilliant tour of a brilliant boat. Love the Hardy range and great to see Cockwells bringing it up to date. One question for you Nick; why don’t Volvo do a port and starboard engine layout so things like oil filters etc are all inboard? It would make servicing so much easier!
Thanks yet again for this video Nick. For me it's a horrible design to have the galley bench shoved hard up against the helm seats. Galley aft would be a vast improvement on this layout.
Very different design! Dunno about the bulwarks. I guess take a wave and out through the scuppers. Wish they could find a way to lessen the lazarette and increase the engine room. But that being said nice "Little Ship"!!! Thanks Nick
Setting your shutter speed to roughly double your frame rate. For instance, if you're filming at 25 FPS, you should use a shutter speed of 1/50. This will help to synchronise the shutter speed with the light's frequency. Not sure if you can adjust it but just a suggestion:)
Now that’s a proper boaty boat…….. function first, although not short on looks. Lovely proportions and my own particular liking for a modest air draft……. or visual trickery to suggest it. Within the confines of the number of berths, it needs nothing more……. The lazarette was Tardis like…….. The D13’s appeal to the child in me, but I would probably spec smaller, purely on the grounds of space and weight, without sacrificing much speed As for the Cockwells touch - taking a well loved and respected brand and turning it up to 11. Yes I would, in a breath 🙂🇬🇧
So what you're saying Nick this Hardy 50 will take a SS Minnow storm and not leave me on a deserted island with everything I need to live ;) Another great boat for the PNW
Very nice. Though I like this 3 cabin layout, I like the idea of thesmaller cabin being more of a lounge, I think I'd prefer the larger owner's cabin design. More comfortable for just going away for a fair bit, plus really would work for a live aboard. Thanks for another beautiful and interesting boat.
I prefer teak as opposed to darker wood often used these days, a decent layout as it were. Engine access is a bit quirky but that’s the only thing that I would say is not so good, maybe the layout can be changed like the cabins. Plenty of potential as it were.
That is a lovely boat. Tops the Nordhaven in my opinion. How noisy are the engines when underway? Would there be a racket in the cabin and bedrooms? Hope you’re doing well Mike
Great to see a British boat building company expanding its portfolio and keeping an English classic like hardy alive. You can see the work that’s gone into it and the finish by cockwells who are renowned for the quality woodworking and high end ethos. I think Hardy have been brought up to date and love this boat ❤
Hmm flybridge , perfectly frank , takes me back :-) Frank and honest 🙂 Nice explorer boat , suppose the upper helm is good once you reach a place . Nice in the Med , chilly up north :-)
Love it Nick, having been at sea in all states I know I'd be happy in this boat. Tuck away with a good book nordhavn style. Still cant get that Arksen out of my head, its the little ship thing.👍🏴
I love this one. It’s definitely a bit of me…. Except the engine compartment which is frankly ridiculous. You really should be able to change the oil filters on the Pt M/E and dip the sump on the suitcase geny without having to lift the entire saloon floor.
This really is becoming one of my favorite UA-cam channels. I actually never have an intention of owning a boat, but the sheer joy of these tours makes me happy.

It’s important to note that these beautiful boats apparently come with complementary ketchup and HP Sauce which is amazing.
This is a boat I love, I would buy it in a heart beat.
Nice it has a seakeeper as well! 👍👍
Setting your shutter speed to roughly double your frame rate. For instance, if you're filming at 25 FPS, you should use a shutter speed of 1/50. This will help to synchronise the shutter speed with the light's frequency. Not sure if you can adjust it but just a suggestion:)
Always liked a Hardy.
Now that’s a proper boaty boat…….. function first, although not short on looks. Lovely proportions and my own particular liking for a modest air draft……. or visual trickery to suggest it. Within the confines of the number of berths, it needs nothing more……. The lazarette was Tardis like…….. The D13’s appeal to the child in me, but I would probably spec smaller, purely on the grounds of space and weight, without sacrificing much speed
As for the Cockwells touch - taking a well loved and respected brand and turning it up to 11.
Yes I would, in a breath 🙂🇬🇧
Awesome
So what you're saying Nick this Hardy 50 will take a SS Minnow storm and not leave me on a deserted island with everything I need to live ;) Another great boat for the PNW
Another awesome tour mate, what a beauty! 😎👍✨
I'm glad that you liked it 🙂
This was very nice indeed. Many thanks for the tour! 🍷
My pleasure!
A proper little ship. No truer words said.
I'm glad that you liked it 🙂
My pleasure
I really love this one.
I prefer teak as opposed to darker wood often used these days, a decent layout as it were. Engine access is a bit quirky but that’s the only thing that I would say is not so good, maybe the layout can be changed like the cabins. Plenty of potential as it were.
i think i'm in love.
excellent deserve A PLUS
Happy Tuesday nick
You too TMH! 😃
What the hell are you doing to me Nick? a sleek ocean going trawler? That looks like a perfect compromise! Great job as always!
Thanks!
Nick, firstly another excellent video! Secondly, congratulations on reaching 500k subscribers!
Thank you very much!
Swiss Army knife on water. Looks a proper rugged boat. Would love to skipper this one.
That is a lovely boat. Tops the Nordhaven in my opinion. How noisy are the engines when underway? Would there be a racket in the cabin and bedrooms?
Hope you’re doing well
Mike
Very taken with this, but would definitely go for the two cabin . Great tour Nick.
Great to see a British boat building company expanding its portfolio and keeping an English classic like hardy alive.
You can see the work that’s gone into it and the finish by cockwells who are renowned for the quality woodworking and high end ethos.
I think Hardy have been brought up to date and love this boat ❤
Hmm flybridge , perfectly frank , takes me back :-) Frank and honest 🙂
Nice explorer boat , suppose the upper helm is good once you reach a place .
Nice in the Med , chilly up north :-)
Love it Nick, having been at sea in all states I know I'd be happy in this boat. Tuck away with a good book nordhavn style. Still cant get that Arksen out of my head, its the little ship thing.👍🏴
I'm glad that you enjoyed it 🙂
Another great boat and video. 🇦🇺 😊
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Another lovely boat and great video nick ⛵️🛥🚤👏👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
I love this one. It’s definitely a bit of me…. Except the engine compartment which is frankly ridiculous. You really should be able to change the oil filters on the Pt M/E and dip the sump on the suitcase geny without having to lift the entire saloon floor.
