I thought so too. The UK's Prison Scenes are more realistic than The US. When Daisy Lemay, Ashlee Wolfe, and Rafe Rivera went to Juvenile Hall on Guiding Light they were in the same place but the Kids weren't separated. Daisy got out, as did Ashlee and while it took a long time to learn their lesson they changed while Rafe allowed a misunderstanding where he Shot The District Attorney, got sympathy and had terrific character witnesses and got Three Years, in Prison. He got beaten up in one, but then got sent to a Country Club type of Prison.

YEs. Alison Newman is brilliant as an Actress. From Footballers Wives, or even Bad Girls, she gives her all in a performance. If this were a US Soap, Bobby would have gone to Juvie for Ten Years and when he reached 18 or 21 they'd put him in an Adult Prison. Also, although Bobby did the final blow, didn't Denise and Max also attack her but got away with it. I would have loved Diane Parish to have been on Bad Girls as Crystal's Sister.

Really, after he killed his sister, and only got 3 years lol, it should have been something like 13 years for the killing and 2 years for admitting it 2 years later without parole. He got a pretty light punishment if you ask me, so you should be sad that the defendant got off too lightly not for him.
God that was the most eeriest "departure" of a Child Soap Character. Wouldn't it be awful if Ian and Bobby "talked" and Ian talked about how he ruined his Marriage to Jane and how not one of his kids did right by him. He wanted his kids to have everything he didn't have but still it wasn't enough.
You know looking back The UK British Soap Awards should do an Award for Best Short Term Role. They are on the Show for a short time but they help with The Storyline being powerful. Allison Newman would have won hands down.

Everyone saying the legal system is weak, it is, but can I remind you that it is fictional. Also this is wrong anyway if you commit murder by law you will always be sentenced to life imprisonment (with a minimum tariff) if you are above the age of criminal responsibility (10 years old)
Uh, no you won't. Under 18s can be tried as adults occasionally, but otherwise, depending on their circumstances and age, they can be given a shorter sentence - not just life. No way is it the default sentence for murder by a minor.
He wasn't charged with murder but charged with the lesser charge of unlawful killing aka manslaughter, if he had been charged with murder he would have been detained at her majesty's pleasure i.e. life and the starting point for his age would have been a minimum of 12 years.

There are separate sentencing guidelines for minors and adults in the UK. He was charged with unlawful killing; a lesser offense than murder requiring less evidence.
The emphasis with youth sentences is on rehabilitation. However, an offence involving a death will always be dealt with in a crown court,the offense requires tougher sentencing powers than the youth court, a minor is charged jointly with an adult.

I agree, people should have to face up to what they have done and receive the appropriate sentence. Some people will say that children should get short sentences, but if they're able to commit the crime, they're able to face the consequences and have a proper sentence

Did you see Eliot Carrington play Young George Michael in that Unauthorized Documentary about his life. He was terrific in that as well. I hope he does another Soap Opera. The Actor who plays Bobby Beale now would be better as Dylan (Sean Tully's Son) on Coronation Street. I could see Eliot play Terry Woods Son, on Emmerdale, or someone on Hollyoaks.

Not allowed mobile phones, but all youth detention facilities have in cell phones, but the numbers the prisoner can phone have to be pre approved and they can only phone out, no one can phone into the prisoner. The minutes a prisoner can use the phone are also limited.

This isn't realistic at all he would have been sentenced for a long time soaps always seem to get things wrong when it involves the law
Even if, let's say, a case like this were to realistically take place, the age of the defendant would be a small part of the reason. Either way, when released, restrictions are applied to job applications, life choices and, in some cases, educations.
Life 4 Fire Forever Soaps are loosely based on reality. But I can tell you now they would definitely give a harsher sentence then shown here.
It's a TV series they can't have them in prison for that long because viewers will forget the character 😂

Now we find out that DI Keeble has ties to The Mitchells since she was a Little Girl. I loved The prequel with The Mitchells. It was just as good as The Prequel to Flowers In The Attic where you see what Olivia Winfield Foxworth's Life was like from 1918-1957 and although you don't condone what she did you can understand why she went all cray cray.
