I’m so excited about CHSR and so glad they have been persistent, determined, and resilient to all the naysayers who preach gloom & doom-I live passenger rail and the excitement about expanding passenger rail services throughout the country and HSR development as well-go California, Texas and other states looking at HSR in their states!!! 😁👍🏽👏🏾🙏🏽

I gots ta have CHSR. Even if it's 60mph instead if 200mph. Even if tickets are $200 each, Even if it costs 500 BILLION more. Even if it takes 40 more years. Yay HSR!

The actual estimated cost is not $105 billion or even close to that! CAHSR estimates the cost for the entire project is about $90 billion depending on year of expenditure and inflation. That $105 billion figure, or "as much as $105 billion" as most of the media puts it, is just the upper bound of an uncertainty interval of $77 to $105 billion! It's not an actual budgeting figure. That's basically a worst case scenario, with the best case scenario being $77 billion!
I don't understand exactly how this number became engrained into the public consciousness as the total cost of the project. I guess the press just likes big flashy numbers and everyone else just ran with it without checking. But saying that that is the total projected cost is dishonest. It isn't.

My friend, we appreciate your view. Trust we understand the variance in the numbers but when it comes to the Cali High Speed rail, worst case as been the NORM! Please come back for more vids.

I thought the train to nowhere idea died along with Jerry Brown's political career.

Nope. We approved this project via a ballot measure (referendum) and it has only become more popular within the state since!

And the Central Valley isn't nowhere when ¼ or ⅓ to ½ the population of California lives there. If the train went down high 5 like many others suggest "makes more sense", it would be a train to nowhere.
