Not Iowa native, but moved to Linn County pretty much on a whim and lived there for a total of 11 years. Moved away for family, but I cannot wait to have a chance to move back. It just always felt like home, more so than my own home state. And I really miss the thunderstorms!
My fiance and I are considering to move to Iowa from Florida because here everything is just to expensive especially rent and we want to save some money for our future and there we might find better job's opportunities and an affordable cost of life. I'm a little scared about winters, we are still thinking about that
😂 you don't get out of your area much do you? We have some pretty major hills. Just not in Iowa city area . That's ok.. you guys do good at not letting those fancy people out here in the woods! Thank you for that.
After 37 years in North west Florida, I will be moving to the Iowa City area next week and moving my family in June. My reason is better job opportunity, money, cost of living and way less traffic. I have family in the Winfield area to.
For those of you out of state watching this. Iowa City is probably not the town that anyone who is a native would say best represents the state as a whole. It is more expensive and way more to the Left than the rest of the state. Not hating, just a observation from a north central Iowa native. Greetings from Iowa!
I am definitely considering moving to des Moines Iowa USA 🇺🇸 very soon. Wonderful agriculture and employment opportunities. Beautiful ❤️ hills and prairies of Iowa are great. Miss Farber you are the greatest. Great educational video.
According to census data, Iowa is 84.5% white, which makes it less diverse than the national average. Johnson County, where I live and work is 76.6% white and leans liberal/progressive. To be totally honest with you, I have lived in Iowa for the vast majority of my life, so I probably don’t have fully rounded perspective about what living in a more diverse community is like, and I’m not going to pretend that what I experience and observe on a daily basis will be the same for a person of color. If you’re thinking about moving to the Iowa City area and would like to chat with some folks who can give you firsthand experience as to what their experience has been as POC living in the Iowa City area I’d be happy to make an email introduction.
Grew up in Webster City and left at 18. I'm 80 now and moving back home. Still in touch with h.s. classmates. That's so special.
I moved to Iowa City to start my PhD in UIowa and I’ve enjoyed it very much!! Your videos helped me a lot to know the city and the state
Welcome to Iowa! I’m glad to hear you’ve found my videos helpful!
Moving to Ames to work as a professor from Michigan. Love the town and Iowa was surprisingly beautiful when we visited. :)
Thanks for watching! Enjoy getting to know Ames and the beautiful campus...I graduated from ISU.
