BAC Mono POV test drive through town and tunnels

- some of you asked me repeatedly to do a POV, so here it is. I truly think I look like an idiot when driving around town with a camera on my head, but I do kind of feel why people like this kind of video. It gives away a little bit more of the driving experience.
In this video I show you the starting procedure and the getting it out of the garage procedure as well ;)
Later on I go for a test drive through town where I come through some tunnels, which is always great fun to hear off course.
At the end I have another, shorter drive and end up at a meeting from @Automotim (go give him a follow, he always has some great events lined up)

@@RoyzGarage problem is that it’s not road legal in Canada. so no luck even if i spurge on it. does it snow at your area, we need winter tire package here. hope that this can take the negative 30 degrees here

@@RoyzGarage try it. It’s exhilarating. Just turn on the heat. Hope that it actually has that haha. I used to drive s2000 with top down on highway in freezing temp

It's literally a race car, and it doesn't even have a roof which makes heating useless.

Yes, settling into the seat, turning it on, is time consuming... It really is easier to just pull the car out of the garage..
I initially was going to say something about the angle, seems a bit high, but it was perfect for seeing the city center, which was outstanding to see!

17:32 It must be so funny to see the paparazzi... Have you gotten used to it yet?
The angle was lower so you could see the steering wheel a bit better. But there are 2 things why it is extremely difficult to get it perfect.
1st, you set it up on idle, but under load you change your head...
2nd, I always have hypersmooth set to boost because there is a LOT of vibration and if I wouldnt you would only have shaky unwatchable images. But in order to get the vibrations out of the image it crops it quite a bit! So it cuts away a bit low and up in the screen, it doesnt do that on idle...
The coolest channel ever. Could you do a "living with" video ? Very interested about insurance and maintenance costs on this beast.

@@RoyzGarage I'd watch anything you shared. That includes changing the oil, brakes, washing it... Even if you didn't do it perfectly, and was just learning as you go.

Why did you get rid of the 3cm "windscreen"? I think it keeps a lot of bugs off my sunglasses! They end up on the "windscreen" or around the Air intake behind your head. That rearview mirror pair really need the upcoming upgrade with the twin support arm. Hope the won't be ungodly expensive.
Uhm, I didn’t, the windscreen is still there and you are right it helps a lót, I almost never wear a helmet and its perfectly fine.
I dont really mind the mirrors and dont really like the look of the twin arm, also heard they solve the problem just partly, so not even going to bother buying them.

Car sounds so amazing, reminds me of the S2000.
Is there an RPM you need to be at to use the quickshifter and autoblipper? Or can it be used at low RPMs? Although, I'd imagine it'd be really rough.
The sequential works without clutch when you want to, but they advise under WOT only and preferably above 4k rpm only to be kind for gearbox.
But honestly, that goes automatically as it is so rough on half throttle, it really comes alive when you are on it and give it some beans😎
@@RoyzGarage Thing is awesome. I love how you can hear the dog clutches engaging when you got to the car meet! How often does the air compressor turn on? Ever when you're driving?
@@linkinparkdrift there is so much noise...I never hear it engaging. But on an atom it was about every ten gearshifts

If you don't mind my asking? What do you do for a living? I'm and an equities trader but cannot yet afford a BAC Mono but will get one in the future.
I’m a simple employee from 8-5, but I am dedicated in my hobby choices and have also sold some of my rare hobbies with some profit after ownership

I have not yet asked other owners if it is possible.
I do know Mono can do about 10 degrees of incline, but I am guessing there are underground parking entrances which are steeper, so not using any of those.
I actually do know of one person using it, @thecollection on instagram had his own underground parking and he is able to go in and out….

Roy - thanks for all the great videos about your BAC Mono experience. One silly question - how do you wash it? Can you just power wash it like normal and does the cockpit handle water or is there a special process?

I actually did one video “carspotters being spotted” which is a bit like this, but I actually like the format of parking it and have the camera’s running and hear what people have to say👌🏻
