Welcome to the Himalayas. For the next 288 hours we’ll be surviving in the Himalayan mountains. That’s right! We’re going to Everest Base Camp. Which means trekking, living and breathing in the highest altitude ever. For the next 12 days we will be making our way to 5364m of elevation through villages, incredible mountain ranges, and not much oxygen. But before that, we need to survive the world's most dangerous flight to the world's most dangerous airport. I just booked my trip for May next year. I will turn 40 on this trip. Even after booking the trip, I've had my doubts about being able to complete it. Planning on making this trip this October. I’ve been watching videos about EBC trek for about 2 weeks now. Yours is definitely my favorite. Your bond with your father and brother, as well as your partner is admirable. Your attitude towards the journey, the challenges and your subscribers is both admirable and encouraging!

In terms of altitude sickness. I hiked up from Jiri rather then flying in. It added a week to the journey but the bonus was that I had very little problem with altitude until (thankfully) on the way back. Which lasted just one day-as soon as I got below 4000 meters I was fine. For oldies like myself I’d highly recommend doing this. The other bonus was powering past younger people after Namche bazaar. Which is. You know. Quite satisfying.

Wait, I dont understand that the trek goes to 5364m, but the insurance only covers you if you go to 4500m? How does that work on this trek ???
Very interesting video, and I'm fortunate to come across this.
Curious to see the Stone Writings along that path.
I think, if I had the money to go, I would take a while longer, not just to rest, but in addition, to savor the different points of interest, although, from my viewpoint, I certainly can't tell how much time you can take to "smell the roses" along the walk. Perhaps, some traveling companies allow for people to take their time to do the walk. ( Perhaps pay two, or more "Sherpas" to carry their things, instead of just one "porter".
Do many, if not most people receive some training before hand to do this walk? Talk about walking "the Camino"!!!! (Referring to the walk beginning in Northern France, and stretches the length of Northern Spain! [ Most people take about a month to walk it.])

Thank you for making this wonderful, insightful vlog of your amazing adventure. My friends and I are going there in March and watching your journey inspires me even more to go- thanks. Please don't take this as criticism but as an observation and sharing my experience with you guys. I was as a young man in an elite airborne unit in the British Army and had to endure bodywrecking feats of endurance carrying what the porters do daily - what was drilled into us and helped ALL who listened was - strong thoughts create strong outcomes- thinking that a coming uphill section is going to be hard - makes it harder! Creates anxiety and stops you enjoying the moment based on the negativity you are IMAGINING in the moment!!!!!! Better to imagine a cool future,,,,no! In future, and again this is NOT criticism, see yourself in your mind's eye, going up like a yak or a porter, breathe in the PRANA (life force that is free and all around) - pick a tree or rock a hundred metres or so ahead - reach that - congratulate yourself and repeat until you reach your destination - having GROWN - again LOVED your journey (55 mins in watching and wanted to thank you all ) may you all have many, many more to come.
