This is not a game, its a marketing strategy. They want to sell you graphics cards... Epic Games and Nvidia probably gave the studio a few bucks so they dont worry about sales. After all, only 7% of Steam users will be able to run Alan Wake 2 in 60 fps and 1080p.

Played about an hr so far. There is an exploration aspect to it but it doesn’t seem like backtracking is a thing for this game. Could be wrong though.

You can back track. There is a point of no return message when you won't be able to again so you will know if you need to find more collectibles
