What’s at stake in the upcoming French snap election?

The countdown to the snap legislative election in France is now officially underway, after the deadline passed for registering candidates. And calls have been growing over the weekend for voters to rally against the far right. President Emmanuel Macron called the snap vote after the National Rally of Marine Le Pen won the majority of French seats in the European Parliamentary elections. Journalist Eric Lyman explains.
