- Join me on an exhilarating cycling adventure as I conquer the highest peak in the Ayrshire region, Brown Carrick Hill, just outside the historic town of Ayr, Scotland. This challenging yet rewarding ride takes us from the charming streets of Ayr, passing iconic landmarks such as the Ayr Racecourse, the birthplace of Scotland’s famous poet Robert Burns, and the stunning Ayr Beach.
Our journey begins in the heart of Ayr, where we cycle past the grand Town hall, Burns Cottage where the national bard was born and the atmospheric ruins of the Auld Kirk. As we leave the town behind, we’ll pedal through lush countryside, with breathtaking views of the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran in the distance.
The climb to Brown Carrick Hill is steep, but the panoramic views from the summit are well worth the effort. On a clear day, you can see as far as Northern Ireland! Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or just love beautiful scenery, this ride offers an unforgettable experience. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more epic cycling adventures in Scotland!

Enjoyed your Carrick Hills video very much. Im recuperating from a double knee replacement and cant wait to get back on my bike. These vids are good mental therapy. Cheers from Melbourne Australia!
Thanks for watching, I truly appreciate your support 🐵 Hopefully you will get riding again soon! The Carrick Hills are a tough challenge and I am glad i managed to get right to the top this time. Stay Tuned for further adventures 🐵
A fellow local UA-camr! - done the Carrick hills many times its always savage regardless which way you go up! - nice to see someone else out there enjoying 'well kent' roads! - ATB Tom
Thanks for watching, I really appreciate the support especially from locals! Yep the Carrick Hills are challenging every time I have done them, but they are addictive. It’s the first time i have got to the top, what an achievement. Ride safe out there 🐵
Kudos for doing that climb on the gravel bike. It's tough. Have you tried it from the coast side? I find it even more of a challenge.
I did many years ago go from the coast side, the hill just after the house halfway up is extremely difficult! I use the gravel bike more now as there is not much difference in my speed to the road bike, more comfortable and the gearing ratio is not as punishing 🙊 Thanks for watching, appreciate the support and time you took to comment! I’ll need to try some of your routes out 🙌
So why was one mast being taken down from the Carrick hills I saw it earlier this year.
This is a question that no one has answered yet 🤷♂️ I am very curious as it was a landmark with the 3 (which I have always know it to be) looks weird with 2 now! I can only guess that it was beyond repair, im not even sure what they are for radio or tv? Thanks for watching, your support is appreciated 🐵
