Great Video Jim. I'm on the Odyssey in January and in a balcony. Glad to hear you really liked it. I just got back from a weekend on the Freedom. It had been updated and had both El Loco Fresh and Playmakers. Enjoyed lunch at both.
I am SO happy to see this video... My husband and I are taking this cruise in Greece next year for our anniversary and he's never been on RCL before and I haven't been on this boat. SO EXCITING!!
Hey Jim! Great to find another passionate Washingtonian cruiser! Like you I have been on Quantum-class before, went on Ovation in August 2019 and going again in August 2021. Then got Oasis of the Seas followed by Freedom of the Seas and Odyssey of the Seas in November, and finally Navigator of the Seas in December. It's so exciting that cruising is back and I cannot wait to get back onboard and begin creating content! Cheers to cruising!
Thanks for all the great information! I booked ship out of Rome summer 2022 going to Greece and Turkey as a College graduation trip for my daugther and her friends. They will have such a great time!
Oasis was our first cruise 10 years ago...made all other cruises we've been on since seem boring. Looking forward to sailing on Odyssey in a few months. This vid has given us high hopes ^_^.
Jim, Great to see you back doing videos...my wife and I missed them. Very interesting take as we believe we share cruising style (even though we're much younger🤣), but what did you do to compensate for the personal touches that come along with cruising in the Haven? The Haven rooms and isolation are one thing, but the personal touches is what we think we would miss the most. We did admit that if it was maybe an extended family cruise this would be a good option. Would love to get your take...thanks👍🏾
It's just a completely different kind of cruise than being in The Haven. Nothing's going to beat The Haven, if you can afford to cruise that way. They totally spoil you. But for those times when you don't want to pay the cost of a cruise in the Haven, but you do want a great cruise where they really perfected lots of little things that a lot of other cruise lines and cruise ships still haven't quite figured out... Odyssey Of The Seas is a great choice. Also, as you've said, when cruising with friends or family, a lot of times the people you're cruising with can't afford to do an expensive Haven cruise. So, in that case, you want an affordable cruise, but one that has a lot to offer. This is a great choice for that.
Jim I agree, those Quantum Class Ships are some of the Smartest Designed Ships I have been on. They are my 2nd Favorite to The Oasis Class. I'm a just Amazed by the Size of Oasis Class and things to do. I think Royal Caribbean does Cruising Very Well for every age Group. Especially for the Price...
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I've sailed on Ovation OTS, and I'm booked on Quantum OTS in 2023. I just thought that your viewers may not be aware that, Odyssey OTS cruise season from Haifa, Israel was cancelled by Royal Caribbean, because of the incidents in Palestine, and Israel, she wasn't supposed to be sailing in the Carribean until later in 2022...
Jim Zim is 100% Correct. Anthem of the Seas is phenomenal, so many things to do, inside and out. Bumper cars, inside to I fly, rock climbing, outside. Food was great and now the Odyssey of the Seas is said to eclipse Anthem?!?!? Wow
Because I sailed on her sister, Anthem Of The Seas, and I have researched what improvements they've made on the new version, Odyssey Of The Seas. Anthem was great... one of my favorite ships... and with these improvements, Odyssey is even better.
The one silver lining in the grey cloud of Covid cruising is that a lot of the ships are sailing at far less than full capacity right now. So, those that do take a cruise right now are experiencing the least-crowded ships that they'll probably ever see in their lifetime.
It's funny you should mention that, as it is looking like a cruise on Viking Sky this summer is going to be my post-pandemic return to cruising. It's not 100% confirmed yet, but I'm pretty confident that it's going to happen. I am just trying to work out a few critical details, and should know this week. If we work out the last few details this week, I'll put a video out next week that will lay out the plan.
@@JimZim Woooohooo!!! I can't wait to see you on the Viking Sky. JimZim - you rock!!! Sending good thoughts so that all the details get worked out this week.
@@JimZim I see that RC is charging for most of the activities specially on sea days. Based on this, would you still say this is the best cruise? Thanks
The Vista-class ships are certainly among the best in the world, but the regular balcony cabins on Odyssey Of The Seas are better, and there are several other things (as detailed in the video) where Odyssey Of The Seas simply beats anything Carnival has got. Now, if you can afford to get in to a Havana cabana on Carnival's Vista class, that totally changes the equation... and I would choose Carnival over Royal Caribbean in that case. But as discussed in the video, the regular balcony cabins on Odyssey Of The Seas are so well designed that it makes it possible to have a nice cruise at a budget-friendly price.
Yeah... sorry... the version I posted yesterday had some incorrect information in it about the restaurants onboard this ship, so today I posted a corrected version.

No, I'm not a travel agent... but I know a good one that I'd be happy to recommend to you, if you're looking for one. I definitely do recommend using a travel agent when booking a cruise. If things go wrong, it's way better to have the travel agent on your side to fix the mess.
Don't let that freak you out. That's part of the process. You bring the crew on the ship, you vaccinate them, test them, and quarantine any of them that have Covid... all part of the process.
Jim, love hearing you again. We booked a Haven in Nov following your advice. Can’t wait!!
Great to see some cruise videos starting to surface. We've already booked two cruises (Princes and Holland-America) this Fall and first of next year.
Great video. Pretty much sums up why we have Royal Caribbean as our
Preferred brand. Can't wait till we can have another go

It's funny you say that. Same here, it kind of Spoils You. But the Quantum Class Ships (not as Big, but Loaded...)
I would agree, any of the quantum class ships rock for amazing cruise ship and great value indeed.
i just love your cruise videos jim! i cant wait for u to get back to crusing.
I got transferred from Independence of the seas to Odyssey at no extra cost in August and I CANT WAIT!!!! 😁😁😁😄

EXCELLENT CRUISE SHIP
great video as always Jim!

I hope this Covid thing is over soon, I miss my good old cruise day

The entertainment on this ship. Is it too stimulating for a person with Cerebral Palsy?
I noticed the crazy lights.
It might be. If you decide to go, grab a seat at the back of the theater so that you can sneak out discretely if it becomes a problem.
@@JimZim Thank you. I really like the Broadway shows. And will look at Oasis for that. Are you a travel agent? I watch everything you show-

How's your trains
They're doing just fine. I'll get back to making some model train videos eventually. Right now, though, there are some other things I'm focusing on.

That ship is in quarantine now with eight crew members testing positive for COVID 19.
