Pound for pound Allen Iverson is the best little guard in NBA history. I think we can all agree we miss watching this guy play and give it his all every night on the court ✊🏽
@Sales K wtf does Mike have to do with his post dummy? He said ONE of the toughest players. He was 5'11" a buck 160 soaking wet & led the league in mins, steals and pts for 3-4 yrs. Always some moron spouting off, off topic
One of the best interviews. Once again you transported the audience behind the scenes and let us be a fly on the wall. Firm handshakes 🤝 for a job well done This should guarantee an Emmy for 2023
Iverson and mike Tyson are the two most genuine athletes in sports history. I wish they got their flowers during their prime, they portrayed iverson like he committed murders for just dressing and being himself. The whole practice thing is an example. They made it seem like he didn’t care by cutting the clip when in reality it was about his best friend just getting murdered and them asking him about practice.
I love the way he elevates his teammates by saying "if they're pros, they're good enough for us to win". Though he didn't get a ring, I respect that mentality.
Bobby Hurley was a tough SOB. One of the main reasons why Duke went back to back. And Laettner was tough as nails and made Hurley tougher. Much respect to AI and his game.
I remember Kenny Anderson with Ga Tech in the NCAA tourney but don’t recall the abuse you are referring to. Post a link. Probably was when Anderson was a senior and Hurley was a freshman
Great interview! Loved the story about his love of football and John Thompson not wanting him to play. Would not have guessed Bobby Hurley being his favorite player. I got a cat in 2001, and named him Iverson 😜
Love his ruthless effort towards competition. This guy is a top 20 player of alltime. After magic and isiah he is the best point guard slash shooting guard
@@adrianprince7266 It's a team game, you nimrod. But Iverson got the best of the GOAT that day. Your opinion on the matter is irrelevant -- that's HISTORY, boi.
@@Vic-Vega So when someone is crossed that means they got the best of someone… I think just because it was Jordan it’s amplified so much. It was a great move and AI is amazing, but the Bulls won the game. Therefore you know who got the best of who.
@@daweeza42 The Bulls won the game because they had the BETTER TEAM, nimrod. Did you know Iverson outscored Jordan in 10 of their 13 H2H matchups? Even if you throw out Air's appearances with the Wizards (where he clearly wasn't at his peak), AI still got the best of him.
💙🏀❤️Clap your hands everybody! 1-2-3-4-5 Sixers, 10-9-8-76ers! A.I. is beloved in Philadelphia because he gave us fans all he had on the court. We knew that he played his heart out every time he walked on the hardwood. Number 3 was and will always be one of those special players and a special 76er to me ❤️🏀💙
Allen Iverson is great, but to my younger brother you mean everything to him! He grew up absolutely idolizing you and would watch every single game that you played and followed your career very closely from the age of 5 years old and inspired him to play basketball and have a love for the game so thank you for doing that and I'm also a big fan, but nothing lmy Brother Cade.
Crazy how much many of us took for granted what we had when we had the pleasure of watching Iverson play. So much respect for him as a player and a person.
What I like about him is that he never try to pump himself up. He measures his words not trying to remind people who he was like a lot older players are doing these days talking their generation was better.
It’s really humble of him to say what he said about Coach Brown and taking constructive criticism and all. He’s a good dude to admit this stuff and be real about it all these years later.
Used to come in my store in Atlanta. Never acted like a big shot. So humble. Loved him as a stone cold killer on the court. Like him even better as a straight up good guy.
So me and my best friend during middle school always argued who was better, a.i or vince. Vince was MY GUY but there was never ANY question Iverson was INCREDIBLE! Dude broke down so many barriers and hes maybe a top 3 most beloved player from early 2000s.
Allen...selfishly I am glad you played basketball full time....one of my favorite players ever and along with Isiah thomas the biggest heart in the game
In an interview with the director of The Last Dance it was revealed that one of the reasons Jordan agreed for that documentary was the fact that the same director had a documentary about AI. Jordan replied something like: "Was that you? I love the lil' guy (AI)...that documentary made me cry." Jordan has genuine love for AI. The same goes for LeBron. Michael once called Michael Wilbon and literally asked him to give LeBron a break saying something like "You criticize him too much. He's a good kid, he's doing great..cut him some slack" and at the same time he asked Wilbon not to tell anyone about that conversation.
I think that people who watch DP really do not care about content.....they just kick back and enjoy the interveiw....kind of like Howard Stern, Larry King and Ed Bradly....
The OG that influenced pop culture forever. The tattoos and cornrows hairstyle is common now. On top of that became one of the pound for pound best NBA players.
Liked him on Georgetown. I rooted for him early on in Philly, then he kind of got a bad attitude for a while in the NBA but, he eventually came around after he became a man and I am really impressed with how he matured. AI, and for a short period D Rose, we’re two of the best pound for pound players to ever lace them up. His natural athleticism was amazing. Seems like such a cool dude.
There are many reasons why AI is revered among current athletes. One of them is that he does not denigrate current players he supports them and cheers them on. He doesn’t lecture them he allows them to be themselves. The Sixers organization are fucking idiots for not bringing him into the organization in some capacity to help a player like Maxey become the best player he can be.
Misunderstood for so long it's great to see that people are seeing Allen and not the brash young thug who was being disrespectful to the game. History is written by the true originals. A legendary ambassador for the game and for a generation of young kids. Love AI.
Pound for pound Allen Iverson is the best little guard in NBA history. I think we can all agree we miss watching this guy play and give it his all every night on the court ✊🏽
Maybe three way tie with Isiah and Stockton
I have to give that to Isiah Thomas. He was still super athletic into his 30s. But AI is iconic tho.

AI just seems like one of the most real and genuine people in sports ever
AI is truly a one of one. Everything about that guy is authentic. Great interview from DP.
Allen iverson is always honest and does not hide his mistakes to the media at all. Plus he was a damn superstar player in nba not a star

Yep the media tried so hard to make AI look like a villain. But little did they know us Philly/AI fans stay rooting for the bad guy 😉💪🏽
AI did a bunch of crazy stuff back then he got portrayed exactly how he was
Idk about Tyson being authentic back in the day. Today, sure, but in the '80s there was something slightly fraudulent about his persona. Sorry.

One the best interviews of all time on the Dan Patrick Show! Loved every second of it.
He seems so appreciative, he comes off humble and super confident at the same time.
Dan is the best at interviews
Yes I agree. He knows how to coin out the right questions and gradually elevates to their personal life
Another standout interview!! DP rocks!! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Loved watching him play. Was pure joy. He gave so much and he played during a time when his style couldn’t be ignored but wasn’t always appreciated.
