I was 6 when this was first on TV and apart from the intro 'wonderful country of ours' (uhk!) and Dick being an 'all American boy' (yet Dick West was so naive) they were good stories well worth watching by western fans though I imagine aimed at kids more than their dads...
Loved Jock and he is why I watch these now, the writing was terrible and so many mistakes that do NOT make sense unless you are a 6 year old. Love Dickie but he sure OVER acted!
bigkahuna4826 When I watch these old westerns it gives me a sense of what it’s like to watch WWE. I still like the entertainment, although I don’t watch wrestling. Still, not much difference. lol
I think they wanted Dick to act that way to seem young so he acted it kinda idk loud/naive very expressive and reactive. Not overacting necessarily from what the directors planned but it sure comes off that way. Heared he had to talk higher pitched than his real voice in this series to make himself seem young too. I get where you're coming from. 💜 But I'm probably just partial because I'm crushing on him, so yeah.
Boy do I love Jock Mahoney!! He's a real man!!
The rapport between these two was incredible they just bounced off eachother whoever paired them up it was genius
In its day, western like this were very popular. I still find them fun to watch, 70 years later.
So do I! I prefer them over anything of the last 30 or 40 YEARS - and most that is 50 yrs ago.
Yeah I used to watch Dick West and the ranger Rider when I was a boy..really nice to catch up to them again.

Yeah I'm still watching them and enjoying t h e i r episodes
Thanks for uploading this episode.
I love his neckerchief. Roy Rogers would have been proud to wear it.

Great t v western show.
Margaret Field was the wife of Jock Mahoney at the time this episode was filmed. She is the mother of actress Sally Field.
Great hokum!!!!

I never liked the bandana, you wouldn't catch Hoppy in an outfit like that.
Sorry but Hoppy wore one in all parades!!
las peliculas de westerns me encantan pero en doblaje latino puede ser por favor . gracias

Totally agree. Terrible writing and the kid who played Dickie was awful. He couldn't get a job today.
