I really love how many of these focused Movement Snax are really just "keep doing those same things we already told you about, they're good for this too". It's very refreshing to hear that what I'm doing is good enough, rather than "just add this 10 minute routine to your other 17 ten minute routines and you'll be swoll in no time!"

I’m a young lady of 61 with a desire to feel better, walk better , stand better and sit better with improved quality of life.
I’ve been watching your videos for maybe 2-3 weeks and I’m learning much and can feel and see a good difference in my body.
    With much gratitude 🙏

I like all your vids but some just really hit home and as a yoga teacher your insight has been awesome. Asana is usually translated as pose in yoga classes in the USA but it really means posture. Great reset. Many thanks!

Tim, LOVE OS and the idea of movement exploration. Thanks for opening my eyes to what strength and fitness can really look like...and that both are achievable with simplicity. Of all the physical attributes you possess and movements you can glide into and through, I am most envious of your toe and neck flexibility. Every SNAX I watch, I find myself wondering when I lost those and am inspired to regain them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Truly inspirational.

You can regain them, my friend. Just keep moving towards them. You’ve got this!

I’m really into rocking lately, maybe bc it’s getting cold so walking is less attractive. Watching this, I was skeptical, but, I mean, pretty much everything else from OS has worked, so why not give it a try? HUGE difference. I’m at an age/life phase where I’m just starting to wake up stiff and have to consciously stand all the way tall. A few min of rocking has it all loosey goosey and, for lack of a better term, joints feeling lubed up.
Listening to Move Your DNA by Katy Bownman and now I have the cellular reason this movement is so great. Great companion info for Habitual Strength. I love when stuff comes together like that.

I wish rhere were folks like you out there who helped ppl with physical disabilities like myself do exercises. 99% of what i see out there (in general, not yours) is for those who have 2 arms, 2 legs and an otherwise healthy, symmetrical body.

    "Use your design"
    Love it :)
    Great technique and movement philosophy.
As an aside, I do love the cat-cow for improving my spinal posture via loosening up (and resizing?) those spine muscles.
Do you enjoy benefits from cat-cow, what's your opinion?

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  3 роки тому +2

The cat-cow can be great for “feeling great” - it lengthens the spine and accompanying muscles. It doesn’t reinforce and reset posture like rocking on all fours does, but it can allow for posture to be reset easier if it allows the back to achieve the rocking position better. But again, the cat-cow can feel amazing so for that alone, it offers huge benefits.
Thank you so much for your encouragement.

I keep asking new questions everytime I watch these lol. Will this help with a “tight” rectus ? I have swayback , locked knees, reversal of cervical lordosis, limited mobility. I think I have also lost some proprioception. I feel wobbly when I walk as well which is a separate neurological issue but idk

Actually, the cervical curve is established in utero. It is further supported with crawling.
Posture is an outward expression of an internal structure. So even though I "get" what you're talking about when you say posture is fluid and dynamic, the best way to evaluate someone's posture is to have them stand relaxed with their eyes closed. Looking from the front, the head should be centered over the torso w/no lateral shifts, tilts, or rotations. The torso should be centered over the pelvis and the pelvis over the feet. When looking from the side, the ear should line up over the shoulder, shoulder over the hip, and hip over the ankle. Sagittal balance/alignment is huge.
On the inside...the spine has a normal alignment (just like normal body temp, blood pressure, heart rate, vision, etc). From the front, the spine should be straight, but from the side, the spine has 3 main curves...the cervical lordosis, thoracic kyphosis, and lumbar lordosis. These curves are essential to reduce nervous system tension as well as proper movement and function.
Having a posture and internal structure that is as close to ideal alignment as possible also helps to reduce arthritic degeneration in areas of the spine, disc problems, muscle tension, etc.
So if you want to improve your posture...these resets can be PART of the solution along with other posture-specific exercises (unique to that person's abnormal alignment) and other therapies that will target the ligaments that hold the person in their abnormal structure. Once rehabilitated, those same ligaments will hold that person in their more normal alignment.
So having your posture and structure evaluated by a chiropractor trained in structural correction as mentioned here is a worthwhile thing. OS Resets are part of my care for every patient.

And I would like to ask your opinion about which of your videos I should watch/which exercises should I choose.
