I think he handled those situations the best he could, probably better than most would have.
Racism is a big part of the personal hate on him. Of course there is plenty of other political reasons why people would say they hate him but compared to the things Bush did. I would say, its a far cry from it. President Obama is very genuine in his actions and im sure success or failure he carries every decision with a heavy heart.

This is just part of what they have to do. This is relatively easy compared to going to large venues for speeches or sporting events. It’s not quite as bad as when a president has authorities gas people so you can walk him to a local church for a photo opportunity of him holding an upside down Bible

Obama is the greatest president of my lifetime, hands-down. The fact that he must endure hardships never pressed on presidents before him--racism thinly disguised as politics--only adds to his greatness and shows his inner-strength. I'm quite happy to be alive in this era, seeing strides made in the right direction. While there is work to be done, always, quite a bit has been accomplished in Obama's years in power.

This IS the coolest president of all history so far regardless if you hate him or not.
I remember a video someone posted online years ago - it was snippets of two public rallies - one with Obama speaking and one with Trump, and it showed how each of them dealt with a heckler. Trump simply called for his heckler to get out, to cheers from his supporters. Obama's crowd started booing and jeering the heckler but Obama shushed them, and told them that the United States is a free country and not only is the heckler is entitled to his opinion, but that their veterans fought for said freedom. He's a class act.
I also remember when he came to Darwin, Australia and addressed Australian troops there. Troops were told photography is welcome, he posed for photos with the Federation Guard, cracked jokes and started his speech with "Aussie Aussie Aussie..." to which the troops responded "Oi, oi, oi!"... He grinned, laughed and said "I enjoyed that!" He absolutely knew how to relate to the public, and is one of the best,, charismatic public speakers I've ever seen.
