Saw them live when they supported The Cult in Edinburgh, 1987. Absolutely fantastic. Have the vinyl album with no hole came out as a limited edition...obviously bought the one that I could actually play. They evolved into Apollo 440.
Loved this band. Saw them in Liverpool at either MacMillans or Mardi Gras. Getting old and can't remember which. They supported themselves as Lesbian Dopeheads on Mopeds. Absolutely brilliant. Have liked Mary Mary ever since.
Glastonbury 1987, first taste of Gaye bykers on Aciiiiiid!!!! Best band by far that year. Followed you to 1990 then it went all dance rubbish. Still a cracking band in their day! Golf trek and TV Cabbage favs :-)
Favourite band when I was 19! Saw them live at roadmenders in Northampton 1998. Only the third gig I ever saw. It was wall to wall space cadets in there. Never been to a gig like it before or since! Happy daze...
Everythang's groovy. I shall now spend the rest of the day preaching to my colleagues about how indie music were top when I were a lad, they don't know they're born, and the only way we'd ever see our heroes videos was for ten seconds on those erratic weeks that the Chart Show counted down the Indie top ten. Times were hard, and Sabria topped the charts.
This brings back some memories! Saw these at Burnley Mechanics with my brother in either 86 or 87, It was the first ever proper gig we went to I think. Got tanked up on Kestrel super on the way but the band were so late coming on we'd sobered up for the performance. Borrowed the "feature film" off a lad at college then left it on a bench by mistake. Think I still have a PFX badge and sticker somewhere! Is there a video clip for "Golf Trek" Robber?
I´ve found the Gaye bykers on acid Vinyl in a Store in my City. It´s one of the best bands i´ve heard for a long time. I thin im gonna upload these if i can get the Vinyl on my Computer. Need to purchase a "new-generation" Lp-Player to convert it. :-)
@Long23 yes, yes, yes ,yes - i was always videoing those 10 second clips, and t'was years b4 i saw the full videos of these songs. I miss The Chart Show......:(
HELL YEAH!!!!! Bah, bah bah bah bah, bah bah bah bah, bah bah bah bah, baaaaaahhhh!!!!!!! Must have seen GBOA hundreds of times in the 80's. Supporting Zodiac Mindwarp (natch) Doctor & The Medics et al. Even went to the Town & Country Club to see their film Drill Your Own Hole, I think I still have one of the free condoms they gave away!! One gig at the Clarendon had loads of TVs playing looped porn, hard to concentrate on a good mosh with all that going on! LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!
Bought the 12 inch single the week it was released.. still got it..
Probably worth a few quid nar..

First seen em mid to late 1980s, first 2 lps then the Rectum 12" were awesome!! They don't make bands like this anymore!!
