Congratulations you are the first person to do the whole NEC with the acs-64 without skips you will be nominated for top train simulator for 2021 I hope you win your luck out there keep doing more videos
Thanks! It takes a bit of sustained attention for quite a long period of time. I've always been the person complaining about the birthday party being only 2 hours, the movie only being 3 hours, etc.
Thanks for watching! Sorry about that. I think I had a audio driver update and ever since then my microphone has been acting up. I've had to try many different configurations and I was still feeling around in this video. By the time the train reached Baltimore, I figured out the problems. Hopefully in future videos this won't be an issue.
Happy New Year and great vid. I road 171 a couple of months ago down to DC. Not your fault at all, but apparently DTG thinks Boston is further north than Finland judging by how late they have the Sun rising in the northeast lol For the alerter you need to have the throttle set to 0 as well as long as the break in suppression when it goes off for a signal. Once you have the brake and throttle set you can acknowledge the alerter and it'll clear even if you're above the speed and there's a fix for the ACS that will allow you to get to 125. The quick drive route for Boston to New Haven didn't do you any favors on the signals and trackage as well. it had you all over the place on tracks that Amtrak wouldn't run on unless there was construction or something like that Just some feedback, we all know the bottleneck between New Haven and NYC sucks, especially if you've ever ridden it to Penn or GCT in real life. But for those that didn't know about the bottleneck, they probably understood it was going to be slow around the tenth time you brought it up before you reached Route 128. We get it you hate it, EVERYONE hates that section, but you don't have to beat it into the ground. Enjoy your geological knowledge of the southern corridor, sounds like you're way more familiar with South of NYC than Northern portion of it, but your knowledge was still fair. Keep it coming Happy New Year!
Thanks! Yes, I am definitely more familiar with the southern end of the NEC. I plan to travel around New England when the virus clears. I'll try your recommendation iwith the alerter. I did not have success when I tried it, but it might have had something to do with RailDriver. Anyhow a proper off-camera troubleshooting session is in order. Understood my complaining about the Metro North bottleneck is dragging the video down. I'll try to learn some positives for that segment. Again, thanks for the feedback. You're really helping me a lot by letting me know :).
@@DR_AERONAUTICS no worries sir! Everyone hates that section and you wouldn't find a single person that disagrees with you. Some of those quick drives had you on weird routings into and out of stations, but again enjoyed the ride. Hope you make it up to the northern portion of the NEC after things settle down. Also CactusJuice did the tracks for the Baltimore-Washington route as well, explains why it's so accurate by DTG's standards We all hope DTG succeeds, but it's sad in a lot of ways that a nearly 20 year old game is still ahead of a more modern equivalent in a lot of ways. Stay safe
Lol, yea most engineers during block training will receive a question on the test, “what is the maximum authorized speed” for metro north territory and a bunch of engineers (jokingly) put down 45 MPH because they either put M8s out in-front of us, or other issues.
Tim the retired Railfan horn guy you looked at some of my videos that I've done in the last couple weeks I've done this one especially for you remember a couple weeks ago when me and you were Princeton junction we were doing some heritage units on Princeton junction I did a trip from Boston to Washington I went to that old storage yard I saw some engines that you would be interested in it I saw a GP 38/3 c then I saw a 1967 GP 38/2 with a electric bell on it and then check this I saw one of your favorite diesel engines out there a GP 38/2 b
The NEC exists in parts and there is no single addon that encompasses the entire NEC in 1 download. Here is the list of segments and where to get them: -New Haven to Boston: Steam workshop route (free) -NEC New York New Haven: Dovetail Games store (payware) -Northeast Corridor (NYC-PHI): Dovetail Games store (payware) -PRRV2 for Openrails (PHI-BAL): (no route for TS2021 yet. Requires the OpenRails simulator and downloading a massive but free route) -NEC Washington DC to Baltimore: Dovetail Games store (payware) Note for the gap in TS2021, from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Brandon, Evan, Calvin, and a few others are working on creating the Philadelphia to Washington route, which would fill this gap with a TS2021 freeware steam workshop route. It's not out now, but making promising progress.
@@matthewbennett7138 No part of the NEC is included in the game by default. You have to acquire or buy all of it. If you are referring to the Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac railroad that operates Northeast Regional from Washington DC to Newport News via Richmond, it is currently under development but available now on the steam workshop.
I think it's really great that you drive the entire Northeast Corridor. Would you be able to do other long distances as well. I watch the video section by section. Where do you get the Boston To New Haven and Philadelphia to Washington section. I can't find anything on Steam. Thank you. 👍 is there.
Hi, yes I have done the Pennsylvanian and Duquesne as well, 400+ miles across the entire state of Pennsylvania. The New Haven to Boston route is found on the steam workshop page: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=330377563. There is no Philadelphia to Washington section in 1 piece yet. You need Washington DC to Baltimore: store.steampowered.com/app/1429754/Train_Simulator_Northeast_Corridor_Washington_DC__Baltimore_Route_AddOn/. The gap between Baltimore and Philadelphia does not exist in TS2021 yet. Brandon & and the NEC dev team are working on it. If you really want to you can download the PRR V2 route for OpenRails and install OpenRails to cover this gap in the meantime.
Yeah the engineers who were driving the regional North names were Copeland and Abramson Amtrak fired them cuz they have been warned in the past about what they were doing fact when those guys went through Ruggles they were doing 109 miles per hour when they went past the Ruggles station right before you go into Back Bay I think they recognize they was going too fast and before they could hit the brakes when they came into the they came into that curve that goes into Back Bay it jumped and it hit hit the Ruggles train it hurt a lot of people no one lost their life but there was a lot of injuries they had to rebuild Back Bay Back Bay was severely damaged
Yeah it's a head scratcher because they only initiated breaking upon reaching the tunnel but the NTSB said they were doomed even if they started braking back at Ruggles.
The latter. To recreate this trip you would need to purchase the following DLC's: NEC New York New Haven, Northeast Corridor (Philadelphia-NYC), and Washington to Baltimore. You would need to subscribe (for free) to the New Haven to Boston route on the workshop. For the section Philadelphia to Baltimore, it's OpenRails and the PRR v2 route, or if you can wait a few months, subscribe to the Baltimore to Philadelphia route when it gets published on the Steam Workshop.

@Aron Cory wow dude i should try
Philadelphia to Wilmington exists in TS as part of a very old SEPTA system route. Great video, it’s nice to see the TigerTrains ACS-64 in use.
This explains all those old railworks videos as far as Wilmington. I'll note this in the future. Thanks for watching!
Another 7 hours spent well. Love the video

just to let you know you are not allowed to use the horn in westerly and mystic, only the private freeman’s crossing in between the two towns.

In the very beginning in Boston is the highway along the track the Mass Pike?
Hi, yes it is. We follow it from Cove Interlocking (the first curve coming out of South Station) until the Back Bay Tunnel. Thanks for watching!
