That was what i was thinking. NO one ever ask about it. How can the relationship between steve and gail be that bad that she accidently killed a kitten? (If you know the later seasons, you realize they could have a great sibling-relationship) what was wrong in this household? (See seson 2, where her mother was a B*TCH and the story she told about the family Tradition was horrifying)
