Thank you for making this, it's cathartic for me to see as a Arizona Cardinals fan who was absolutely speechless at the call. The Cards do this every year, they show a shocking amount of potential and punch above their weight class for the first half of a game, and then completely squander the chance to win in the second. It's getting exhausting to watch. Sidebar, the fact we never threw to Marvin Harrisson Jr. ONCE in the second half despite needing a big play to pull off the upset, and despite the fact that's what we literally drafted him to do, is a dumb decision of its own.
Yeah, it was very curious that they didn't even try to get the ball to Harrison Jr. I'm glad that the Cardinals are run by complete muppets. We need to get wins any way we can.
Seriously, others beat me to it but the SECOND I saw this run, I said “JG9 will make a video on this for certain should the Cardinals lose” and here we are. Go Bills
The Arizona Cardinals have a rich history of mediocrity. Gannon is just trying to uphold the status quo, lol. Fun fact, they have only made the playoffs in the SB era nine times.
@@16ktsgamma Yes, they were a plucky 9-7 team that somehow beat Atlanta, Carolina, and Philadelphia. Then the mediocrity crept in yet again until the Bruce Arians era.
My guess at his "logic" Nobody, but nobody is expecting a run here. Maybe this works really well like a draw play on 3 and 19 and we get the first down cheap. Just... the odds of it working are so slim it isn't worth the risk.
As an Eagles fan, the only thing I have to say is "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
Gannon explained he thought they'd catch them off guard, it was 4 down territory and they had timeouts. They should have done an option for Kyler. If it blows up he has a check down or a man downfield. If there's an opening he takes off. He's the quickest guy in their backfield. The Bills let Josh handle things and it worked out.
It is a really questionable decision, but the main kicker is doing it on 3rd down. I get trying to be spontaneous and trick the defense, but why put yourself in a 4th and long situation if it doesn’t work? Good vid JG
They should win because of 1 stupid play calling by the Cardinals? Even if they made the first down from that play, what guarantee that Arizona should've won? You make no sense. They should've lost by a lot more points if not for the kick returned for TD and the Bills spotting them 14 points in the first quarter and a half.
It also meant they had to call the timeout before fourth down. That meant they couldn’t call timeout if they didn’t like what they saw after lining up for fourth down, whereas the Bills could. I mean, as a Bills fan, I can’t really complain, but wow, that was bad. So was practically burying Harrison after he dropped one pass. Who needs a super explosive playmaker against potentially one of the best teams in the league.
I can part way see the logic. The Bills were looking pass obviously so why not try a run with Conner who had a couple of nice runs during the game but I would have used Murray's legs here if you're going to run. That said, my bigger concern is why Marvin Harrison, jr. was nowhere to be found in this game.
Ran the wrong route then dropped an easy pass, plus he had safety help over the top most of the game. Still they could get him going with a screen or a jet sweep, just put an easy ball in his hands
They made TWO stupid run play decisions and I immediately thought of you. I like that after one of them Ross Tucker (I think) applauded the Bills for doing the exact opposite as the Cards in a similar situation as the Bills ran a pass play with the option for Allen to use his legs to get the 1st down.
I'm a Bills fan, and it surprised me that they ran considering that the strength of the Bills defense is the D-line. If you don't think that your offense has a better chance against a back 7 that is missing Milano and has 2 new starting safeties, maybe the GM made a mistake hiring you as the HC.
I watched this game, and I couldn't believe they blew this game. Yes, I know, really surprised that the Cardinals blew a lead. But after Gannon beat my Eagles last year 🤬🤬🤬, I actually thought that he'd learned his lessons. But nope! We're watching a Dumb Decisions video for a reason. He really didn't trust Murray to get a first down on 3rd down with a pass to the sidelines, or at least a manageable 4th down? Boo-urns!
Did you forget that Murray made a dumb decision seconds before? He had Harrison wide open and refused to throw him the ball. Even under some pressure how can you miss a guy that open?
The Cardinals can still get the first down on 4th even with the run with 2 TOs, then have 4 plays at the end zone DOWN BY 6. To me, the Cardinals should of used Marvin Harrison Jr. on this drive since he is a matchup problem. I was surprised that the Cardinals didn't use him, the 4th pick in the draft, in a big drive like that. Jonathan should be fired for that, not the run call.
I understand the "logic" of th3 play call. Was probably thinking he would catch the defense napping, because its such a "bold strategy, he wanted to see if it pays off." Problem is its such an odd decision because the likelihood of success is minimal at best.
i could forgive this idea if the first down was a lot closer. you know 5 yards or so. the fact you asking your runner in a basic hand off to run 10 yards. At least do a bootleg or reversal with letting the runner know if you dont have a hole run out of bounds.
Gannon should've been prepared to adjust to whatever kind of front the Bills' D had. Then again, this game shouldn't have come down to that set of downs in the first place.
Got one more coming up today Mike McCarthy will be on tomorrow, as will anything that transpires in Jets/49ers. Would do McCarthy today, but time constraints
its honestly not that bad of a call. ur treating it like it is 4th down territory. your already at the 25 so u dont got much field to go. and you have all 3 timeouts. it is also windy af so any throw over ten yards is a lot harder. the playcalling was to conservative throughout the game imo and i wish petzing threw more curveballs but in a vacuum i actually dont hate the logic. especially when u were getting nothing but short completions all game. the playcall where they wanted to throw it up to 5'7 dortch over 6'2 mike wilson 6'4 mcbride and 6'4 marv is confounding tho.
That's why he followed it up with "Since that has never happened before in the history of anything." I didn't remember that it happened but after hearing that, I knew that it happened at least once.
@@nicholaswinebrenner5164 but the running have would have had to have been working for that idea to work. Like JG9 said in the video, Connor had one run in the game that was 20 yards, and I think he had one or two for 4 yards. The Bills were bottling him up that game. Maybe if they run Murray or Benson it work better as both were averaging better YPC, but in general, a run play at all in that situation wasn't a good decision.
Please align your helmets, have them face left then right then left then right if you want, or all in the same direction, but not this top facing right bottm 3 facing left but then right in the next shelf
RB had been ripping off huge runs on Buffalo's D all day. Everyone expected a pass. Why not try to fool them? I'm guessing that is why the coach is making millions and you have a UA-cam channel. As a Bills fan, I figured the RB would pick up 20 yards or even score since we missed like 35 tackles in this game.
@@kennethnero2011 the Cardinals let the Bills go on a 28-3 run. The Cardinals couldn't maintain their running game despite the Bills losing Taron Johnson early in the game. The Cardinals defense couldn't stop James Cook regularly. The Bills were playing undisciplined (O'Cyrus Torrence grabbing a guy's facemask the full length of the play that negated a touchdown and led to the Bills only getting a field goal, for example) and uninspired early, and once they got things together, the Cardinals didn't have answers.
I saw this play and thought "this is a JG9 dumb decisions video".

In terms of his entire coaching career... yeah, Super Bowl LVII was not his finest moment

Is it idiotic to say I want Kingsbury back as my HC ? Or he maybe slightly better than Gannon at coaching
Give Marvin Harrison the rock!! What was the Cardinals oc thinking??
I disagree. They had timeouts to burn. They tried to catch them by surprise. If they had one or no timeouts, definitely don’t run.
It is the Arizona Cardinals of course.
