This manga shopping trip was definitely one of my least favourite visits 10/10 would not go on a Sunday again 😅🤣

What made it the 'worst' manga shopping experience? The crowdedness? I mean, that's fair.
Yeah the crowds
I think I say but the manga selection was as marvellous as ever but this was the first time I think I was actually jostled and bumped around while manga shopping and I hated it so so so much 😭
Because a lot of the time, the space is claustrophobic due to the way these shops are laid out. I've been to forbidden planets in London, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham and the majority are extremely narrow and completely full. Manchester is honestly the worst for this because 85% of the upstairs space is dedicated to funko pops that I've seen maybe 3 customers buy in the last 5 years. And downstairs it gets so hot and humid it's really uncomfortable to be there.
I find it gets sooo warm in that forbidden planet as well lol, i went the other week and I was sweating. And it being busy stresses me out when checking out cos the cashiers don't want to separate my manga in the best discount batches :(
Yes! Basement manga places are always way way too warm 😩 I like Himeka's bring a pocket fan solution 🤣
I do a chunky split with my partner then drip feed them volumes for price brackets it does still sometimes go wrong
One of my times in FP London the wonderful cashier helped me group everything and talked through how she was doing the scanning for max discounts
I try to alway go to her now if I see her there 🤣
I've found that with other fb stores too.

So true! I can't find early volumes of No Guns Life too! I hate it when I go to my near Manga stores during the weekends, so crowded.

Your shopping vids always make me envious. There's no store with that big of a manga section where I've been, and yet the manga section is always full of people

I've never seen a whole basket used to buy manga i need something like that because i always buy tons of it every time and it gets awkward holding all the books in my hand
Leeds didn't have baskets until recently so I used to station my partner in a corner and just pile manga next to him when I couldn't carry any more 🤣
Now I really wanna go to my local comicstore but I have REALLY severe anxiety so it is such a struggle to leave the house...😥 I'm gonna live through you for now haha (and order manga online) ^^ another lovely video i look forward to your videos every week they are so calming. No joke the only time I regularly leave the house is to manga shop in Leeds since I work at home 🤣 Going outside makes me anxious too and I need to have a complete plan of where I'm going to go and then stick to it. I think I left the house in October twice

So many bags of manga 😍 The selection looks pretty good in that FP but I find once the new releases sell out they don’t come back for the longest time 😭
I hate trying to look at shelves when people just decide to have a casual chat and block the way 🤦🏼♀️ I’m probably a grumpy shopper most of the time though 🙈

I went to this exact store earlier this year in July (I’m from The Netherlands and was there for a weekend), I went on a Sunday and it was the worst experience ever lmao. I used to come here a couple years ago and I remembered the store to be so good, so it was kind of a let down. I guess they got a lot more popular haha!
Oh wow that was a large queue !! Awesome when did you go ? I work in the area so went in there last night after work and it was perfect timing so thing that’s the only time I will ever go as the weekend is just way too busy 😂 .
Sunday opening 😭 Due to train strikes we had to cut the trip down and it was the only time we could go 🥺
Usually we go for opening on a Saturday and its reeeally quiet the first hour or so its lovely
Forbidden planet is amazing . I always love coming to London. Thanks for the tips on the sale section for manga. Also I love Yakuza lover. I remember when I was in that section my friends goes I’m filthy and my friend innocent as a banter and the worker behind turned and smiled at me like lol I am so bad but it’s a good thing

Got to go out to my nans to pick up volumes 8 and 9 of one piece . And im waiting on volume 7 and omnibus 2 of one piece to come in .

Please can you or anyone recommend a good but cheap(ish) hotel in London? I’ve never been to London and I’d like to go in the spring of 2023. Of course to visit Forbidden planet and the biggest Waterstone store 😊😊
Generally hotels have all gotten really pricey in my opinion through Covid 😭 Generally I just go for Travelodge's near whatever part of London I'm down for

I think its just so big and central its just more likely to get more footfall 😭
I wonder how much of that is they get so much more footfall old stuff gets cleared and older stuff in other places has just been hanging around for soooo long
So when it comes to paying... Do you do it all together? Or do you separate your different price brackets into separate piles to pay for... If this makes sense? 😂

I make use of my partner as a separate transaction 🤣 If we only have 2 price brackets great otherwise we kinda split the price brackets into highest and lowest so at least they can't mix then I drip feed volumes for them to scan in the brackets 😅 In the FPs I've been to at least its just every 3rd one so if I only hand one price bracket at a time its usually ok (Until it turns out the volumes aren't labelled correctly 😭)
In Travelling Man its not too often I go for more than 2 price brackets
