Watching Alan perform this set has without a doubt restored my confidence in modern contemperary techno music on a whole? It itself informs me that techno today is split two ways like other things are and it's not all just a heap of intollerant noise you just can't rave or jam to. Yeah you have your crappie obscure techno and your "raw" techno which Alan brought to my attention. And these tunes I heard? not all of them but most of them, was the raw type traks you can appreicate While being backed up with a great professional mix up which is what music longs for? for without it music remains contained within its own identity awaiting for that special person to set it free from that confined space it exists in at its present moment. Yeah to understand the essence of music brings to light the need for quality mixing. Just making a trak from stratch and listening to it is never enough but it does begin there? without that beginning no dj can select first of all then secondary improve on what's there. Which Alan did A selector and a Dj all round a credit to the techno lovers out there and a example to others on how lfo sound and the sonic effect should be transitioned from how it is original to how it can be. Use of trakker Esp virtue dj 8 makes the real difference over that one. Old vinyl is always going to be classical but old 90s and 80s classical methods only effect sound the way they do we live in a virtual or virtue age where that limitation has been removed but still vinyl can be used to assist the later day method because of a idea on how the sonic effect can sound. Yes there a lot of great stuff out there But to bring the way it should be back into the bigger picture that's there is something that is essential right now. I honestly don't believe that even if the illegal drug market producers of extasy would make a difference on how young people was to react to what going on even if es was twice as good as the late 80s extasy if such a pill existed Why do I say this Because even that the music is still good and it is what rave music is suffering from is a identity crisis Esp the UK rave music scene So don't expect the youngsters of today to be the same they are no different they suffer from a identity problem to like the ravescene does. It not the same as it was many years yes a night out still but no more then that
I think Alan is one if the few Guys that keeps Techno alive and fresh. And when i say techno i mean techno and not what everybody and his dog thinks or claims to be techno.
