This is a window into the end of an era of an economic boom, actually both for South Africa and the United States. Through this lens one can see why America is now a security state. With a destitute economy, the United States wants to avoid the internal collapse South Africa has suffered today.
One of the biggest industries is private security of white homes, patrolling and monitoring the cameras 24/7. And you are exactly right our Fiat money is based on our military muscle. As soon as we are not the big dog our economy collapses. South Africa is our destiny unfortunately.

I know that all these ads was recorded from the same TV program, but it is possible that they are not from M-Net.
It may be that the last part (Remainder...) was recorded during a different time, and then certainly from M-Net.
Everything was recorded in Johannesburg.

Actually, I'm a South African from the 90s :P Despite that though, I'm not a huge fan of Afrikaans slang and South African culture in general, and when it's over the top like in that ad, it's really annoying.
