- BONEY M was not only the disco cult band of the 70's and 80's but remains a living legend of the entire disco era. Originally founded in Germany by writer and producer, Frank Farian, BONEY M was one of the disco orientated pop acts which dominated the European, American and especially the South African charts throughout the late seventies and early eighties with a string of hits well remembered to this day. They join us live on eXpresso this morning to chat about their final show In Cape Town tonight.

I define boney M as one of the topmost best music group of all time. Their song remain fresh like fresh milk every single day.
I am Big Fan of Boney M for the last 50 years. Sad to note the departure of Bobby Ferrel @ 61 years in 2010 Very energetic while performed. Fellow mate lady members too long time companians

liz looks so young here aged very well yes she is a bit heaver than what she was in her 20s but her face has not aged she was all ways the good looking member marcia was sex in a way but liz was classically good looking and maizie is unique and kinda different looking but still beautiful

I heard that it was Liz Mitchell Who sang lead on every record but Claudja Berry and Donna Summer Who came in to do back up back in The Munichdiscoyears
Only Liz Mitchell & Marcia Barrett recorded the vocals along with Frank Farian who provided the male vocals. Bobby was just the dancer and Maizie Williams had already signed the contract before they realised her voice wasn't right for the studio recordings. Boney M were basically Liz, Marcia & Frank.
