- I love metal detecting, it's the hobby that just keeps on giving. I love sharing my finds & love competing with my Dad, the cameraman. Gordon introduced us to this hobby & the three of us enjoyed some great times with light hearted banter but always delighted for each other’s successes. We sadly lost Gordon in June 2022 & he leaves a huge hole in our detecting adventures BUT we continue, hoping he is watching over us. I’m now using his trusty digging tool hoping it brings me some luck!

Well done Paddy, great field that is.
One thing though, you should be wearing a seatbelt in the car. 1) you dont want to go through the windscreen because it will mess you up at best. 2) if somebody decides to send the footage to the police ... your Dad's gonna be getting fined.

As I’ve replied to another comment, I was wearing a seatbelt it was just tucked under my arm to get it out the way for the video. I’m not that stupid don’t worry

It’s a Discovery 2 TD5. It’s a 2003 model. Please think twice about investing as I’ve ended up spending a lot of money on fixing little issues

Yes definitely, love the HF coil, pretty much always use it!
