Intel offers a single port (JHL7340) and double port (JHL7540) version of this host controller and a peripheral controller supporting two Thunderbolt 3 ports (JHL7440).
i have a few issues with the comment you have made on the dual 8 pin connectors on the motherboard, in a realistic world people who buy these motherboards and cpu's would also buy a premium psu, but in a lot of cases people are just that people, and some psu's on the market don't have provisions for dual 8 pin outs to motherboard cpu and even more of a concern is the psu EPS cables i have seen some with 22awg and some with 14awg wires, now most eps 8 pin outs will accept upwards of 300mhz input but like the 9900k i have seen basic over clocks pull upto 350mhz so, the dual usage of the using both 8pins would allow the cpu to pull its needed mhz from both connectors rather than that of trying to pull it all from one connector...or am i mistaken

Hi, Given the over the top CPU VRM, and its increasing efficiency with higher current draw, how many phases would you do away with in order to offset the cost and add a PCI PLX chip?
TDA21462 was expensive, but definitely not as expensive as PLX chip. You pretty much need to kill 3/4 of the VRM to get a PLX chip and the other 1/4 to get necessary PCIe slots, signal lines and other stuff.
Kinda same ridiculous league as that msi godlike. I hope GB will make 10 or 12 phase TDA21462 chips on their A-rank mobos, Xtreme being S rank.
So torn between this board the MSI Godlike and the Asus Maximus XI Extreme, I heard the Asus board the bios makes it very easy to overclock
MSI has only giga ethernet. Asus has crappie VRM configuration, for a 400-500 dollar board i mean. The GIGABYTE has maybe not the best bios, but ticks every other box. I’m a a very long Asus customer, but i went this time with Gigabyte.
@@Lion_Hamza I ended going with the Asus Extreme and it's been very good so far Overclocking is so easy
Marius Baar Thats the most important point, that you are happy and your build runs well. Congrats and be happy 😃
has anyone tried to squeeze this mobo into the coolermaster h500m case?? the dimensions say it’ll fit...barely... but id love to see if anyone has squeezed it in... i think it’d be a slam dunk with the thunderbolt and front panel 3.0s plus the crazy good airflow. thoughts??
Being an EATX does this board fit ina a S340 Elite Case? thanxs in advance
Thank you for this!
Waiting for the Elite :D
This board, msi godlike or evga z390 dark? To overclock 9900k. Benchmarks shows Asus gene record holders. Any suggestion guys
Is the Optane SSD 9 PCIe 3.0 x4, NVMe 2.5" U.2 SSD compatable with this mobo? I don't see NVMe U.2?
Can you say more about the button that we don't push?
buildzoid could you please do a PCB breakdown of ASUS's Z390 Maximus XI formula !! ??
Damn it BZ... You are making me feel like i've settled on the Aorus Master..... My binned de-lidded and lapped 9900k is on its way and now he tells me?....Crap!.....LOL
why have the software switch in the first place? other than marketing fluff that is..
Can you please do a review on Asus xi extreme
I wonder how many phases Z490 will have with the XDPE-something. 32?
The XDPE132G5C is not compatible with the current intel VRM spec
Hi, Given the over the top CPU VRM, and its increasing efficiency with higher current draw, how many phases would you do away with in order to offset the cost and add a PCI PLX chip?
TDA21462 was expensive, but definitely not as expensive as PLX chip. You pretty much need to kill 3/4 of the VRM to get a PLX chip and the other 1/4 to get necessary PCIe slots, signal lines and other stuff.
Kinda same ridiculous league as that msi godlike. But if you think about the price its not really insane, just $200 more then the master and the mainboard is still the base of the whole system so why not spending $500, i mean theres lots people spending 2-3 times that amount for just the GPU.
But sure i like that showoff, and the lil´bro the master is in my decision finding on the search for a z390 board.
Awesome breakdown as always, love this kind of detailed view.
I got a 9900k and want a z390 board and looking at this one, what board do you recommend overall your favorite z390
Depends if you're looking for E-ATX or ATX, but the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Apex is really freaking good in relation to it's price, and most importantly it's Buildzoid approved. If you're more of an E-ATX guy you should look at Aorus Xtreme tbh.
Hey bro i gotta ask...do you think this board needed to come with a plx chip? (Jk jk Sorry bro i had to lol)
Does Foxconn produce for Asus and Gigabyte?
Can you provide a link to the pic you used in this video?
I got a waterforce extreme for 430€:)
Any chance you are doing the !master next?
Thanks!!
I believe there is already a video which covers that.
Are you planning on breaking down the Z390 Aorus ultra as well?
It's basically a doubled vrm version of Aorus Gaming7... which I'm currently use... good for 9900k?
I plan to test the Z370 Gaming 7 with the 9900K some time soon.
@@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking I can't wait to hear your thoughts on that as I have the Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 and was considering the 9900K for it but was worried it would not be able to handle overclocks on the 9900K...Brilliant insight from you which is appreciated...
ASUS z390 WS has a plx chip apparently
I think they are trying to push people who need more lanes into the more expensive HEDT space.
The sad thing is that I'd love a board like this, but it can't take the card compliment I have on my GA-Z97X-Gaming G1-WIFI-BK, with the PLX PEX 8747 on board.
When does EVGA dark come out??
I could just imagine your Pc setup.
The igpu can be utilized even with discrete graphics cant it?
yep
So deleting the igpu has a impact on more than just people who arnt running discrete graphics?
@@marcushughan5668 iirc, Adobe uses Intel's IGPU to speed up video production/rendering, so yes. Look on Gamers Nexus' channel for the video about building their video production computer.
@@wargamingrefugee9065 that exactly what I was thinking of haha but I was trying to be more general
AORUS Pro next???
Oh boy!
I hindsight, this thing was a bargain compared to the Z490 equivalent.
It should do
can this board run 2 2080ti
