    In 1966 I was in the US Navy. We went to Subic Bay in the philippines. There is "Grandie Island" on the bay, where the Navy had a recreational area, swimming, drinking and exploring. There were two "Disappearing Gun" installations. They were 10 or 12 inch calibre. The support arms had been severed by explosive and the breach blocks removed as Macarthur retreated to Corregidor.

      The government should fine "the military" for abandoning a facility that the government paid to have built but that the government did not want to pay to have dismantled?
