- The Transition TKL by SwagKeys is a custom mechanical keyboard that has three different mounting methods. You can configure it in top-mount, gasket and sandwich mount. The sandwich mount uses a thick 4mm plate and is pretty interesting. Overall, This keyboard is a nice update to the previously released Shelby80. This is a limited quantity sale though, so make sure you are there June 10th at 9PM EST to try to grab one.

Ultra thick plates can be really hit or miss for me but it really feels like they nailed it here, I'm a big fan and I'd for sure pick it up if I were to grab this.

Wild to think about a full plate / 1.6MM PCB bottoming out, one of these days I'm going to get a PP plate cut, I've only heard good things about them! Thanks for the review! If swagkeys would bring their design language to a 60 / 65 / 75 form factor, I'd be all over it.

The build quality is hands down good looking board, so simple and elegant. But the sound is not that aggressive like the Sonnet or even Frog TKL and Mr. Suit level. But yeah it's interesting board, im still undecided tho but tempting. 💥🔥❤️

Great vid! 150 units is even less than shelby. do you think alu plate with soft gasket will also feel pretty soft on this board?
I think it would actually. I didn't get an Alu plate to confirm this though
Good evening, Clackbro. NGL, I believe that based on the sound tests, I prefer gasket mount > sandwich mount > top mount for the sound alone. Most of the configurations feel like they're lacking something with the final gasket mount configuration being the least hollow/resonant imo. Loving the new videography. Super clean B-roll.

That's really interesting. My sound preference would be top > sandwhich >>>>> gasket. The top mount resonance adds body and weight to the sounds, whilst the gasket (and all gasket mounts tbh) just sound so restricted and bland

I definitely get why it would sound bad to some people, i'm kinda an outlier in the hobby as I prefer a stiff top mount over gasket mount/flexy boards.
It's nice to see newer boards cater to both sides of the clack-thock fence, we all win
I noticed you used the SW Knight stabs. What's your opinion on them compared to other stabs on the market?
They're actually pretty nice. I still prefer TX AP, but def a good option.
Damn, 500 dollars? I estimate that to be like maybe 100 tops in parts if their batch sizes are small. I imagine they are paying a lot less for them to be made in china or somewhere
The price is realistic, it's just 150 units, with a big stainless steel weight, that will be quite a amount of money from a manunlike dds, btw, all good case manus are from china, they have experience with it, you won't get that great results from manus from the eu and us
Lowest price of $400 is pretty steep. Wish it was cheaper, definetly would of considered getting it to try out the different mounts.

@@foggytypes lol engineering mounting holes for top mount isn't that complex. But I understand the low qty would increase the value of production. Still don't think its worth the price. Not really ground breaking or aesthetically inovotive for me.
It's really weird to me that there are still in stock keyboards available, but the sandwich mount completely sold out early last night... like, was there not enough of the unique mounting style for each board? I feel like that plate was part of the draw to try with this build, even if you don't keep it as final config 🤷♀️

For existing Shelby80 owners, any thoughts on a comparison between the two from a potential up/side grade lens?
Hmmmm. If I purchased a Shelby, I'm not 100% sure its worth the money to upgrade to this, if you like some foam in your board. The body is too similar to justify it tbh. Sound and feel wise, its quite a bit better, and I do like the front height/typing angle better on the Transition. Hope that answers your question homie.

I wouldn’t upgrade if you have a Shelby already. I agree with Clackbait, they look way too similar and the sound profiles aren’t that different either, regardless of the mount.

When i got into rabbit hole my first entry was m1 just cost around 90$ when i bought sale in my country wayback in february while my lmk81 also sale just 110$ last month = cnc, trimode, per key rgb. My GB Zoom75 cost me around 200+ and i think its reasonable for cnc alu with screen, trimode and per key rgb. Few days ago i saw QK75 in Marketplace I quickly grab it he sold me just 20 more bucks above the original cost around 230$. I think 400$ nowadays is too much even you want premium keyboard. By the way the GMK Norse is perfect for this build I wish its 75 not a tkl. my qk75 just sound like that using morandi switch and GMK Agent 01

The Bsun raw is the most satisfying switch I've ever used. Using this switch is almost cheating.
