Bro you should hear that song from the same movie ARM 🎶Angu vana konilu 🎶✨ It's awesome. And you should watch the movie ARM 🔥 It's an amazing visual treat, you can see all kinda genres in this film.
1:18 never scared....... Like when your a kid , elder use to say " there were gods in human body, when they wore that costume"....... And also were said to pray to them💓
no we didnt scared it because of its our culture and also inside the costume thats also a human they are doing there art skill so we didnt scare we loved it
Yes, when i was a kid during festivals in a temple i used to go there. Since i am a Christian i am not familiar with those traditions and they haunt me sometimes. Some days i couldn't even sleep thinking of these strange paintings on their faces and those costumes. Those are considered as the incarnations of various Gods and they practice those arts as a remembrance of their God. When i told my parents they told me about the hindu culture and traditional practices. Later in my catechism classes i studied a lot about Hinduism, islam and other religions and that clarified almost all my doubts.
These figurs (usually gods n goddesses) are charecters from Indian folk stories. They perform at local village temples accociated with its festivals or on auspicious days. People r used to these attires and make ups. As children v grew up fearing these charecters. But they tell as great stories with high moral values.
Just come to kerala and do fell our culture, food, beauty and what else , everything. You must visit to malabar that is kozhikode kannur during the theyyam seasons i.e. From Nov to June. You can witness wide varieties of theyyam's here. Do visit and explore. During the video I see you were enjoying each and every beat in that song.😍. As a kerala girl I feel proud that our malayalam songs are enjoyed by you people with whole heartedly. ❤️
As a person frm kerala...i agree wth..the traditional costumes can sometimes scare small children. But these festivals and clothes have thier own beauty as well
All the stuffs has backstories or devotional stories...begins the stuffs like "theyyam, thira, kolam" when these all first time view mind has full frightened with a special type of respect.... Then all childrens and adults know this is a part of culture.... Now when see this stuffs looks like same energy as children and a good time of trance, meditation... Bro when u come in kerala in February March April season u must visit north side of kerala there will all these thats must live watch items....❤
As a kid, I remembered them as gods or people being "possessed" by Gods..... So it wasn't that scary but more of like something divine. I used to bow down to them may be 10% fear but 90% faith and respect
When we where babies they grown along with the culture...americans see sanata clause costumes or Halloween costume..so while people around grows up theyre gradually being adapted with it at the end they represented gods and goddesses..but as any there are exceptions
I was actually scared of these folk arts when I was a child. We have yearly celebrations in the parts of Kerala and I guess it is kind of related to agriculture (during the spring to summer period, if I am correct), which usually happens in temples across the state. These folk characters/people with the costumes visit every house in their region and collect money/raw rice/some other forms of donation and on the day of the respective temple celebration, everyone gathers in the temple and they offer all these donations to the lord/form that is worshipped in that temple. Some people wear these costumes as an offering to the god.
As long as I observed some of the babies get shocked and will start crying immediately... But in fact some other really find interest and may ready to go to their arms without any fear.. They find so curious and interesting... As a grown up girl... I feel so fascinating when watching at a distance.. But as they come so close to me.. There is an adrenaline rush inside me but I will also observe the fine details painted on their face in even millimeter level detailing, which is very difficult to notice from a distance. The deatiling mostly refers to the character and legends there are playing...
It's bit scary to see those art form when we were kids , but when we grew up we understand it's part of out culture . But definitely as a kid it was a whole different experience.....
At the beginning of the song, the people wearing vibrant costumes and traveling on the bus are dressed in Yakshagana attire. Yakshagana is a traditional theater form from Karnataka and parts of Kerala, blending dance, music, and drama to depict Hindu mythological stories. Performers wear large headdresses and elaborate makeup to portray gods and demons, creating a visually striking and energetic performance.
1:17 omds yes i used to be so scared of people in those costumes and makeup.. haha i remember hiding behind a chair because if they noticed you they’d come and try scare you.
