ASAP Rocky Speaks On ASAP Yams' Contributions To "A.L.L.A."

- ASAP Rocky is fresh off the release of his new album, A.L.L.A., and as we've seen in recent interviews with Harlem's most jiggy native, he's pretty proud of it. However, Rocky's still super humble-- although touting the album as his best during the beginning of our interview, he's cautious to say that's just his opinion. "I know I tried my best and I think I made a dope album, in my opinion, I made an incredible album. I just hope other people see it the same way."
We caught up with Rocky last night to get in a few questions about At.Long.Last.A$AP. The rapper detailed a few songs specifically, like "Canal St.," and how it came together, from the subject matter (Rocky's days of hustling) to the beat (the Bones sample). As we hypothesized in our review, the Bones sample is thanks to both ASAP Rocky and Yams' musically-inclined ear. "What happened was, I saw it online and I thought it was fire. I was like, 'yo Yams, you ever heard of this kid Bones?' He was like, 'yeah of course I know Bones'," Rocky tells us. "I wanna tell him I wanna fuck with that "Dirt" song, and he was like, 'bet, bet, I got you.' And Yams just linked it up."
Bones is just one of several new faces that appear on A.L.L.A., including Joe Fox, Vulkan The Krusader and Frans Mernick. ASAP went on to discuss the history between him and Frans, revealing Frans not only produced "Better Things" but sings on the chorus too.
Rocky doesn't hold back on providing details in the 17-minute sit down. In addition to speaking on the ASAP Yams-dedicated album art (with creative direction from Rick Owens' wife) and "Jukebox Joints," he also talks about Lil Wayne's verse on "M'$" and how Yams was the one pushing for the verse. "He went mixtape Weezy on that one," Rocky says.

Great interview...always good to hear about Rocky's music and artwork for the album. All these other interviews are focused on some other ish...
Keep up. Good. Works
love this baker!!!! ur questions were amazing, u brought out ur personality, this felt like a interview and a convo, u improved so much and there is still more to come, i respect u, u could easily do this on a bigger scale, the only improvement i see baker is u need to let what they say sink u more, u seem to move on really fast, as if u have a bunch of questions they give ur answer and they go, anyone can do that, just praise what they say, realize it, acknowledge, if they say "blah we did this we went here we loved the feel of this, etc." say thats dope, or ask questions u didnt write down in relation to what they said, start mini convos in that interview, and be funny make her/him laugh, beacuse they do this all day they want something diffrent, more eye contact, focus less on ur phone, ask questions based on what they say, while asking the standard when is ur album coming, what did u do diffrent, will there be a tour, etc. but amazing job baker u improved alot alot
mej2153 much love to everything you said. I really appreciate that. You right, it's all about growing and continuing to improve.

baker, love your interviews. if you ever do another interview with asap rocky tell him to go to soundcloud and check out "P dizzy" on soundcloud, its the one with the ripped up vans as the profile pic and check out the "my shit" playlist, its a whole bunch of shitty beats i made on garage band but theres some decent beats on there. you dont have to say it on camera but itd make me really happy because rocky is one of my biggest inspirations. love your shit man, you dope.

aye fuck boi discovering for himself is bs because he still didn't discover shit bones has been rapping since 2011 &

this why they have to disrespect their own fans cause yall niggas hard headed and sensitive like thats not what i meant but you cant explain shit to close minded ppl shut the fuck up lmfao
Kenny Mathews asap rocky was not saying HE discovered Bones and showed people but that HE had found out who Bones was when he watched the Dirt video...but yes Bones been out since 2011
you don't gotta stan rocky my g. He was referring to finding bones for his personal listening, not the world.
Even tho we all know he been known bones since the klan days

Very dull and disrespectful interviewer. Constantly looking down and avoiding eye contact. Not responding to rocky's responses. I'm surprised rocky stayed so charismatic with this boring dude.
Tls
Lol the fuck ? Some of the comments said the interviewer was dope and the other said he was dull and disrepecting Rocky . To each to his own . But rmb , that's ur opinion #peace
