Now for those of you who might be unfamiliar with what a meal kit food delivery service is, basically, it's a subscription that changes how you cook, eat, and spend time with your friends and family. Basically, these services will ship you all the ingredients and instructions to be able to create amazing dishes right at home. They basically lay it out for you so it couldn't be easier. All you have to do is simply follow the instructions and enjoy the delicious food and all the time you saved grocery shopping and looking for recipes online. It's also a great way to try some unique and different food that you might not generally try in your daily routine. So up first, we have a home chef and this is the best overall option for meal kit delivery service. Now the reason we highly recommend home chef is that they have unbelievably high-quality ingredients very well-written recipes and fantastic flavors. One of the great features about home chef as well as the service organization makes it incredibly easy to set up your account and purchase your orders. Not only were the recipe instructions consistently clear, but the time estimates were largely accurate, meaning that you could budget your time in the kitchen accordingly. By the way, if you are a vegetarian I still highly recommend Sun Basket. It might have some niggling points but overall it's a solid service. It's all up to you of course.

Hi there and thanks for the great question! Unfortunately, as I'm writing this only Hello Fresh also delivers to Canada. Other services such as Home Chef or Sun Basket did not enter the Canadian market for now. You can check out local examples such as GoodFood or Cook It. Since we never tried them, we can't really comment on how good they are.
Really good review. I had a question: Do the menus also include dessert because I love myself some dessert after meals :)
Who doesn't:) Unfortunately none of the services in the list include dessert on their menus so we'll just have to make do with some ice cream:) They should include desserts on their menu though, I think it's a great idea!
Hello Fresh offers deserts for an extra charge. The selection changes weekly but have Pillsbury cookie dough of various flavors (usually cross-promotional ones like Lucky Charms or Oreo), mini chocolate lava cakes, and a fairly bland single-serving vanilla cheesecake. Each one is $4.
I think Im going to go with Hello Fresh. On its website it has cooking times for all of the items in its menu. How accurate are they? They are a bit long and if they are even longer in reality I might have to go with another one of these? Thanks in advance.
Hello Fresh is a really good choice and like I mentioned, their meals do take some more time to prepare. However I think they have the most "gourmet" meals out of all these services on this video. During my testing (and I'm a terrible cook) I found their approximate cooking times to be more or less accurate. It may have took around 5-10 minutes longer but again that's because I'm really bad in the kitchen :) So I'd say they are pretty accurate. Hi, I'm a Muslim and I was wondering if any of these services have a pork-free meal plan I could select?
Hello there! I think none of these services offer a meal plan that is specific to any religion (like Muslim menu, Jewish menu etc.) but all of them give you the option to choose your meals each week. Home Chef has a detailed sign-up page where you can personalize your menu (you can choose the food that you want to avoid like pork), which might the answer you're looking for. However, if you wish to avoid pork all of these services in the list offer you the choice of doing so - it's just that they don't have a "Muslim meal plan" per se. Hope I was able to help.
