Ancient & Historical Monument Hiran Minar In District Sheikhupura Of Punjab Pakistan

In this video we will show you the 418 years old historical place "Hiran Minar" which was constructed by Mughal Emperor Saleem Noor-ud-Din Jahangir in 1606 in the remembrance of his pet deer "Mansraj". He loved his deer a lot. Here Emperor Jahangir made a grave and constructed a tower regularly which is called "Hiran Minar". Later a Bara Dari and ponds had been constructed here. Now this place has become a regular tourist spot. In ancient time here was a thick forest and the hunting of deer was very high here. The name of this area was Jahangirpura and it was a small village. Than the name of this village has become famous Sheikhupura because the mother of Jahangir called him Sheikhu with love. It is very famous about Mughals that they went to use out for hunting with their families. Noor Jahan was the wife of Jahangir she also used to go out for hunting with him. According to a tradition she had killed a lion with her gun also. Once upon a time when Jahangir had come this area for hunting he saw a beautiful deer here this deer was captured alive by Jahangir. Jahangir liked this deer so much that he had kept him as a pet. Jahangir named his pet Mansraj. After a short time Mansraj gave up the habits of wild animals and adopted the habits of pet animals and soon Mansraj became the king of royal animals. Mansraj helped the Emperor Jahangir to search the animals at the time of hunting. Than a time came in 1606 when Mansraj became the target of Jahangir's arrow by mistake and was killed. Jahangir extremely sorrowed with this thing and he made a grave in the memory of Mansraj and also constructed a tower. This Hiran Minar was constructed by Sikandar Moeen on the order of Emperor Jahangir in the memory of Mansraj and the stone of the grave was also made of the shape of deer. The Gravestone was made by Mula Muhammad Hussain Kashmiri which was the famous calligrapher of that time. The well for drinking water at that time was dug up which was 58 feet deep and of 8 feet deep in diameter. The purpose of this well was to arrange water facility for watchmen, soldiers and royal employees. The height of this Hiran Minar is 103 feet but later a part of the Minar was tumbled in the earthquake. The 100 stairs are present inside this Minar which are made with the lime stones. The diameter of this Hiran Minar on earth is 33 feet and by going to the height it remains 23 feet. There are 210 holes inside this Minar which were made for the crossing of light and fresh air which are in the shape of 14 rows. The ground part of this tower has eight sides which was resemblance with the 8 doors of paradise which are as liked to the eight gates of paradise and this design was especially famous in Mughal architecture while the remaining part of the Minar is round. This was the great example of love of emperor Jahangir with animals. Some people committed suicide to climb on this Minar that is the reason this Minar has been closed like Minar-e- Pakistan. A big pond was constructed in 1620 and a Bara Dari was constructed between this which is 90 feet high. The Emperor Jahangir and Queen Noor Jahan took rest in this Bara Dari during hunting. A drain was constructed to fill this pond which had brought water 30 kilometer away here from river Ravi now this drain had become deserted. Now the tube wells are installed to fill this pond with water. When Shah Jahan came into power he made many changes inside Hiran Minar and spent a huge amount of 80 thousand rupees at that time. The total area of this Hiran Minar is 104 acres and this is in the custody of Archaeology Department Punjab and they played a vital role for the restoration of this Hiran Minar. They opened this place for the tourists and make a fool proof security arrangement. Thousands of tourists come here daily and enjoy a lot. Especially in holiday people come here in large numbers. There is an appeal for the tourists are that take care of cleanliness here and secure this national asset.

آپ کا شکریہ کہ آپ نے ھمارے شہر کی تاریخی عمارات کا ویلاگ بنایا۔ اللہ پاک آپ کو جزائے خیر عطا فرمائے آمین یارب العالمین ۔ میں نے اس سیر گاہ کو 64/65 میں دیکھا تھا جب میں پرائمری کا طالب علم تھا۔ میں نے جب اسے دیکھا تھا اس وقت تالاب کے چاروں کونوں پر کمرے موجود تھے اور مینار کی ساری منزلیں موجود تھیں بعد میں خستہ حالی کیوجہ دومنزلوں کو گرا دیا گیا۔ کچھ عرصہ اس مینار کو بند بھی کیا گیا کیونکہ چند لوگوں کے خودکشی کے واقعات ھوئے تھے۔ بہرحال یہ تو ماضی کا قصہ ھے ۔ اب تو سنا کہ کافی رینویشن ھوئی ھے اور ھوٹل وغیرہ بھی بنا دیا گیا۔ ھماری تو اس جگہ سے کافی خوشگوار یادیں وابستہ ھیں۔ اللہ پاک ھم سب کا حامی و ناصر ہو آمین یارب العالمین ۔

آپ غلط سمجھ رہے ہیں ۔یہ تالاب ، اس کے درمیان بنی عمارت اور مینار پہلے بنا تھا ۔ یہ عمارت شکار کے لیے آنے والے بادشاہ کی آرام گاہ تھی ۔منسی راج ہرن تو بہت بعد میں اتفاقاً جہانگیر کے تیر سے مارا گیا تو اس کی قبر مینار کے ساتھ بنا دی گئی جس کا حلیہ بعد میں خزانے کے متلاشیوں نے بگاڑ دیا
