Great to see US manufacturing...I am sure many people would volunteer to do the voice over for such a great product, gratis! Edelbrock has storied name in high performance manifolds....Their Hi-rise intake manifolds set the standard! We machine lovers thoroughly enjoy listening to an expert describe processes also, meeting the people that make it happen is cool too...Just a simple 30-60 second point of recognition..." Hey, this is Jimmy...Jimmy de-burrs the mounting surface ports..." Lose the 70's music...Unless it's Sabbath or Crimso...:)
As a high school kid with a semi-drivable Plymouth 'cuda, and seldom enough money for gas, I dreamed of the things for sale in the Edelbrock catalog. I then got a job at a Southern California Super Shops store, where I spent my paychecks as quickly as I earned them (thank goodness I didn't have a credit card in those days). I wish I still had that car.
you guys were the envy of all hot rodders for so many years it predates me, for all I know your headers were on the Curtiss Jenny but at any rate I know those guys could use a little Trump bump bonus plan or even an extra keg at the summer social, keep up the good work, you are making America great also
when I was in to looking for a set of small block Ford heads I had shop around it was one thing that made me get Edelbrock I was watching a title block episode on UA-cam and Vic Edelbrock said that we would never move out foundry to China and that's when Edelbrock was building they're big foundry to help keep him in America is 2x Edelbrock so I did Performa rpm 5.0 I love them they make great power right out the box made in America it counts thanks Edelbrock for making a very good product I won't buy anything but Edelbrock help keep Edelbrock in America by Edelbrock
Great to see it’s all still made in the USA you should be proud of that, I have an Edelbrock performer manifold on my Chevy great piece of kit wish we still produced stuff like this in England
Kendrick historian poet When it's made in the USA, everybody in the world knows it's the best, and everybody gets paid, until the smart-aleck accountant and greedy politicians get involved then it made in china. We can do this again, we have done it before. And we do not have no other choice. Made in the great U.S. of A. We have always been great..........
Its hardly death metal lol. Also i would assume they are catering to there main customer white males. But judging by all the mexicans working there it should be mariachi!
I am not a car guy I'm a Robotics Geek...That out of the way the casting, milling and finishing says one thing to me...If you want tough, made in America and Built to last BUY EDELBROCK! Out-freaking-standing!
Well, as a teenager, back in the fifties, everything a guy wanted was made by Edelbrock! I would visit the nearest car parts store and dream of owning those Edelbrock headers that would make my 49 Chevy sound "hot"...well, they did; until a cop pulled me over and said : "your car sounds like a P-51 flying through the Grand Canyon"! He was a nice guy and didn't "write me up".....years later, I became a cop, and I never wrote a ticket to a teenager with "glasspacks"! Anybody out there that remembers those days? Probably not....
+wesley hill I do, in high school ( many many moons ago) I had a 1957 ford with a 312 interceptor engine. I had exhaust cut outs ,and one day I was jamming down a road, cut outs open, when a State patrol unit ( John Mittman, very cool guy) stopped me. He didn't ticket me , but the next day he was in the school parking lot, by my car, and embarrassed me ( in a good-natured way) in front of my friends. Best lesson I ever got from a cop!
Lord, it's fun to relive those years, and I'm grateful that you have shared your memories with all of us! I think it's great that you remember that trooper's name, after all this time. As a side note; I had a brother in-law with a 57 Ford, and I had a 57 Chevy. Belaire with a 283 V8, and "powerslide" transmission. We would argue about which was the better car! I later removed the P.S. and replaced it with a manual 3 speed using a corvette gear shift....jeez, why didn't I keep that car?
My son works at a foundry and he said that the one he works at is no where near as sophisticated as that he works on the shaker and hook out lines where parts are coming off "cherry" as he calls it
Great to see where ya parts come from what the factory looks like and see the people there some of them might have made the parts on my car and I don’t think there expensive when you see what goes into them, I also have an edelbrock AVS 2 carb it’s a great carb and a EPS manifold great price on them and still USA made 👍
Amazing processes. I have a new found respect for what goes into casting & machining these parts (not to mention the initial design). I enjoyed the video more after locating the "mute button".. Do death metal lovers build hot rods? I wonder.
An automobile cylinder is the most complicated mass produced casting. Combine that with the difficulty of working with aluminum compared cast iron and you have a job on your hands. Good video.
Antique parts for outdated engines! Why not get into the technology of the future? Electric is the way to go. There must be a big market for electric conversion kits for people who can't afford a Tesla!
So glad I didn't click on this video for the awesome music. It reminded me of the time I found a really tacky 1970's porno at my parent's house when I was like 8 years old............
Labour ? I was taken by the number of procedures done by robot. Most of the labour was at the end stages and, I imagine, they could be automated as well. Hopefully not, folks need jobs.
I think there could be more automation. But more automation requires more skilled labor. I'm an automation engineer and I've seen that with our company we only employ more folks because we can produce more quality product. I really see automation as an enabler for many companies to flourish. By this I mean folks can leave repetitive mundane tasks to go into another role in their company. For example; We pack seeds at my work and I made a few machines that allow the seed production folks more time to go out and garden if they want to. We have many roles at our company that need attention and if automation can help fee people from crazy labor, that, all in it's self, I hope is good.
Just got my E-street heads for my 302w. I'm alittle worried about the oil drain backs though...Not drilled center at all on top but have the weird offset channel on the deck side. Hope it can handle the high vol oil pump
i would think when checking out various cylinder head and manifold port shapes using the 3D printer that they would make sand mold forms for the port sand cores would allow easy a few off manifolds and heads for testing..
Are all heads CMMed (7:10) ? CMM means Coordinate Measuring Machine but as initials is used as a verb. At GE Power Systems Airfoils outside of Atlanta we had to CMM every gas turbine blade we produced. And we made hundreds of thousands. Had 7 CMMs.
Great visuals … but wish someone was explaining what’s happening.. edelbrock was my first power adder got a performer olds 350 intake for my 1976 cutlass supreme at junkyard in 1995 for $15.00 come up . Great product
sure not quite what Vic Sr. started with - - as the saying goes " you've come a long way " (we'll forego the "baby" part) . While I liked viewing the process and the machinery I believe some narration would have greatly enhanced the experience much more than my mute button. I do run Edelbrock 202 s on my Vette in fact till the blower went on it the whole top end was Edelbrock including the cam kit, heads, intake and carb. What I was shocked to see in the video was someone lifting and manipulating the head casting to remove flashing and excess aluminum - - would have thought a machine would do the square and trim .
I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Too bad no American companies care about american 4 bangers. A good NA four cylinder is something to be enjoyed!

Would be so much cooler without the creepy music and with a narrator explaining what's happening... It's probably obvious to the people who made the video, but the foundry work is pretty well unknown to the rest of us.
Yup, from age 2 to 7 they actually crawl inside the castings and scratch the sand out with their fingers and from 7 to 13 they bore the blocks out by running around inside the bores with carbide tipped flipflops on.....
Hard to believe they have a heavy metal band playing full time in the factory. What an awesome place to work.
Nah thats just the supervisors jamming out in their air conditioned booths on the 2nd floor
It’s how they get the old timers to retire early.
Especially when aluminium is such a light metal!
@@leehaelters6182 Not if you drop it on your foot.
@@RogerBarraud, your poit well taken. Hope that you did not learn the hard way! All the best.
Made in the USA - Proud statement :) Good on you Edelbrock, thanks for the upload enjoyed watching your great factory at work.
I don't know why anyone's complaining about this music, this played at my wedding. My wife walked down the isle to this. It was TOTALLY SWEET.
Seriously?

Yeah, U.S. manufacturing by Mexican employees.
I've done everyone of these jobs, from a molder, core maker to the furnace, and the grinder and even the machining, and the cmm dirty nasty hot work!!
I find casting parts amazing these factories do so good making us a part great quality at afordable price for work that goes into making the part
It's give or take the same price as holley products but all made in the USA. I love my Edelbrock Products
As a high school kid with a semi-drivable Plymouth 'cuda, and seldom enough money for gas, I dreamed of the things for sale in the Edelbrock catalog. Still have my 69 Barracuda, since 15

This is simply amazing and one of the main reasons i wanted to be an engineer.
I used to gravity die cast alloy heads in addition to doing weld repairs to them; Great fun !
Impressive this production...great job Edel..
Come please my job survey mining nickel and gold .investasion free
Wow the deth metal really adds sophistication..
LOL.....was thinking the same thing. Who picks out that crap?
Its hardly death metal lol. Also i would assume they are catering to there main customer white males. But judging by all the mexicans working there it should be mariachi!
It's _metal_ foundry after all.
Not a mullet in sight. Disappointed
Love Edelbrock products always the best
Hurray, Edelbrock for doing it in the USA.
Too bad you are 20 years behind the times!
By my mexican brothers hands yo

Incredible look into that amazing process.
Just remember... this could all be done cheaper in China but Edelbrock is a true American company!
This aged well....lol. Sad to see this plant close
It's amazing edelbrock manufacturing company.........
Looks like a fun job.
Awsome glad to see there still around !

you bet we do!! nothing like a big cube 8 with slayer, winning combination
I stand corrected :O)
RIP Vic, you will be missed!
BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER
An automobile cylinder is the most complicated mass produced casting.
Combine that with the difficulty of working with aluminum compared cast iron and you have a job on your hands.
Good video.
Cast aluminum being difficult to work with?
it shurelly way better than those plastic manifolds that crack overtime sending the computer tilt
Excelente 👍 video me gustó mucho la fabricación de los múltiples y cabezones en esta empresa son de buena calidad 💪
Quality aftermarket automotive parts. Racers ❤ Edelbrock

Cool size measurement station base. Consider addition of laser scanning technology. Scanners are much cheaper nowadays.
Good work
this music... is fantastic.
We need something like this for efi ford 460 ! Stock efi 460 intake is garbage breadbox intake would be so great .
Jesus! Great products but dam now i understand why those heads are so freakin expensive. Lots of labor.
Labour ? I was taken by the number of procedures done by robot. Most of the labour was at the end stages and, I imagine, they could be automated as well. Hopefully not, folks need jobs.
danny sulyma yes thats what i meant...the last section was cylinder heads. TONS of labor.
parteibonza It looks like the assembly goes together pretty fast

the first track is an awesome creamy guitar lick!
This Is The Best GOOD Ol AMERICAN MADE Parts That Last Forever... And Not Junk From Other Countries..
I cant say enough about Edelbrock
That music is doing my head in, I'm done here.

What products do you use to make your mold successful??
Neat to see how my heads were made ☺
Man, I really hate working in a casting shop!
Almost shocking it's in California, all the greenies nearby must be pissed.
Edelbrock is the best !
nice casting
Nice video
Great visuals … but wish someone was explaining what’s happening.. edelbrock was my first power adder got a performer olds 350 intake for my 1976 cutlass supreme at junkyard in 1995 for $15.00 come up . Great product

Like the Chevy Vega?
We run Pinto based 4 bangers in hydros and there's plenty of gear out there, you just have to know where to look.
Soundtrack recorded in the Carvin Escondido Factory recording studio.
is the foundry still functioning?

wuld be gr8 if this was like a tour

Whats up with the SEGA music
Because all Edelbrock, you gotta go fast! (Sonic the hedgehog)
Dad Metal
Awsome!
I could use a pair of those LS cathedral port heads.
the thumbnail SO looks like a lego block upside down =D
Awesome!
Now I see where all the Mexicans work at Edelbrock..
Feed Me yeah they should put the management in jail fo hiring illegals
Concidering that there is giant machine shops that produce oem engines for ford, dodge etc in mexico, i wouldnt be surprized. What is the problem?
Look at the very last part of the movie. The Made in USA sticker is on crooked.
That said, it looks like they make good stuff.
Holy cow! Was that Elvis at 8:47????
Always wondered where those junk heads I bought came from.
Were is the factory located at.????
Do you produce a full working engine? Or produce a specific engine by order?
Thanks
So long as the sand doesn't get contaminated they can reuse it indefinitely.
Could any body tell me the track that is playing at the start of this video 😎
its the sound of freedom
Damn, right near where I live
dang..allot
beer bellies up in that joint...
got a be americanz.
Merica!!!
What is the mold material in 4:00 ?
how about enabling captions for those of us who dont hear well?
I muted the volume and played slipknot.
Who is the guitarist on this video? Please anyone who knows
Do they reuse the sand or it is dumped?
Its cleaned, processed and recycled.
Hi that is insane i love it good job (i need to know the name of that parts or tubs of copper)7:53
"valve guides"?
на 1:22 какой-то сотрудник под манипулятор попал (в левой части экрана) и видимо хорошо получил от манипулятора, аж поскакал от него задним ходом
Haha, good eye.
take a look at the BMW casting process video on youtube and you will realise that this looks look like Fred Flintstone's factory by comparison.
What city
Como me gustaría trabajar ahí 😃
thanks beautiful video
best quality
ALL made in the house!! no cheap made in china crap!! want the best carb? you can buy today?? none other than this co. period!
IS IT A UNION SHOP??
Pretty cool! I wonder what the Chinese clone parts foundries and machine shops look like. Of course, we know they don't have QA departments!
They probably use piss as coolant lolll
Yup, from age 2 to 7 they actually crawl inside the castings and scratch the sand out with their fingers and from 7 to 13 they bore the blocks out by running around inside the bores with carbide tipped flipflops on.....
head bangin'!
