You’re walking back to your apartment with your roommate and close friend. They love teasing you and can be a pain in the ass sometimes yet you can’t help but enjoy being around them. Soon, you start to think of them as more than a friend. You ask them to come with you to the store and while walking back you shoot your shot, not knowing how they will respond.

I wouldn't know, I never had a crush.
Also small advice that no one asked for. Whenever it comes to "liking someone" there's always the reasons. I don't focus on looks first, but I don't look for specific personality traits. In my opinion, you must get to know the person first. Always basic stuff, like what are their hobbies, interests, etc. After a while, you earn their trust. Here, I'd say you can learn more in depth on the person. Either they come to you first (based on their trust in you) or you can make them feel comfortable so that they can open up. I mean, I'm no relationship expert, but this is just my thought. I don't really know what else to add :/
