The video you showed them is only 50-60% true :)) . In the end , with the tigers it wasn’t even Shaoling, it was Thai monks .. and they walk with tigers only after they feed the animals very very well .. so tigers not tempted to take a bite :)))

And the temple in Thailand was raided, as the tigers were beaten, drugged for the tourist trade..The worse was, the tigers bones were used in medicines, and the police found glass jars with the bodies of tiger cubs..Even the water was sold as a medicine...Reason I will NEVER go to Thailand!

And that Shaolin fighter is not a Shaolin monk never trained at the temple he was a Chinese kickboxer who got kicked out of their kickboxing academy. He is a good fighter but bakauw beat him. Just more bs on UA-cam

This video is a mess. Lots of non-sense and misleading videos. the monks with the tiger are not shaolin monks? And many more bullshitting is going on in here.
They put staged fights, then random clips of fights (no ko's, no results) and, to top it, they blatantly lie about two things:
1) Andrew Grotte being called a "top MMA fighter" when he is actually a pretty mediocre one that has 1 amateur MMA fight in his MMA career, the rest being these type of show fights.
2) The result of that fight was that Andrew won.
Sad that they are believing these type of shock value crap videos

We're looking at their reactions like they are not our reactions.I've never seen Shoalin monks training,so I was in as much shock as these villagers.
They are seeing and learning something new,but so are most of us.
I know India has the rasputs from the north. They fight with weapons like the whip blade and chakram. They are feared for their prowess in battle honed over centuries. Shaolin feared them as they fought so differently that what they normally understand. The Indian warriors were from a border town making them the first and often the last line against invasion. They were overwhelmed by British Invasion but they still practice everything mostly to tourists now but they still work towards something big.
Raeen's face through some of this was great. "Brother, what are you doing?" Great line.
Show them the Christian the Lion video and other people reuniting with lions/tigers they raised, it seems they like the animals!

Shaolin Monks have discipline and training that's second to none, but for the most part they are not fighters. Yi Long actually trained in San Da at a Chinese sports university and took on the trappings of a Shaolin Monk as a gimmick to garner public attention for his kickboxing career. It really worked, too!
I mean yeah they're monks they can still kill most people with their bare hands but they are primarily monks unless we talk about warrior monks those guys rarely meditate and usually focus on training and fighting
Majority are warrior monks, especially in this age you'll rarely find a person that wants to meditate and is highly spiritual.

I love each and every their season starting with Cambodia in 2010 and currently Pakistan and special series about traveling Ukraine. They've got wonderful season about India too. And your show is also that much great for me as it isn't about the show but about real life and real people. You guys are just awesome.

What the Shaolin can do is just amazing. The current understanding, though, is that an MMA fighter with the same amount of training wins a fight against a Shaolin monk (or, best I understand, anyone). The “Shaolin Monk” that competes in MMA didnt train in the Shaolin temple. He lived and trained full-time at China’s .....oh, I can’t recall, but a form of combat in the ring. He adopted Shaolin robes and shaved his head to create a persona but, again, never trained at the temple. The monks, to my understanding, don’t even spar or do head-to-head fighting. The temple’s elite form a demonstration team that performs feats they’ve practiced in front of crowds, it’s very impressive but not really geared towards actual combat. The actual temple also struggles against, essentially, counterfeit dojos that borrow the fame of the original temple but offer much lower quality training.

Did you know the founder of Kung Fu was an Indian monk called Buddhabadra but he did not introduce it directly as Kung Fu, it evolved into Kung Fu by subsequent Chinese Monks.
I thought kung-fu was invented by Bodhidharma?

But it's not a job, though. They are buddhist (?) monks of the Shaolin Temple. And that's not a job, but I'm sure it feels like that for them. But I think it's more as a way of life for them, where the spiritual side, and the philosophy, is directly linked to the rigourous, hard physical training.
How old are each of them if you don’t mind me asking?
Babu is 60, as said in a recent video of them trying to talk to people online, Sarru is 18, and I don't know Raeen's age.

Those monks are all show. They use weak materials. For example, the iron rod. It would bend, not shatter like that.

The Chinese will train a million to find a metal needle in a haystack. The Indian will train a million to make a few wood splinters. That is why I (a foreigner!) prefer Indian Kalari to Chinese Shaolin.

that monk who joined in the ufc is not even the half of best monks, he is not a novice, but he is way bellow the average monk. still way stronger than normal fighters.
he not mastered the cheolsan art (if is correctly written, I don't remember), that make our body our armor, if he was one who trained it well, even the best ufc fighter could give the best perfect kick on his weakspot and nothing would happen. also a monk punch can give 700kg impact with deep kinetic energy, is not superficial like a boxer. and think about the kick, is 4 times stronger, not even the muay thay fighters can reach it, they get close for sure, but the best monks not accept to show his strength just to show, their idea is never reveal the real full strength
