There are other bikes that brake better, steer better, fall apart far quicker, cost a bomb to service and can't hold a candle to the VFR - In Australia, VFR stands for "Very F#cking Reliable" because they are incredibly well built as-well-as being a hoot to ride! I think anyone can take the piss out of any bike, but taking it out of a bike like The VFR is like starting a war as this is a bike that is loved the world over.
Previous gen is even more reliable
Σαν κάτοχος έχω να πω ότι η μηχανή σε τουριστικές βόλτες καίει κάτω από 6 λίτρα με ταχύτητες 120-130 χιλιόμετρα . Αν δουλεύεις πάνω από το vtec καίει όντως αρκετά αλλά για ταξίδια μια χαρά κατανάλωση έχει. Τα φρένα ακόμη και σε χρήση πίστας είναι ακούραστα με πολύ καλή αίσθηση. Κάτω από τις 7000 στροφές το μοτέρ είναι πολύ ζωντανό με αρκετή ροπή καμία σχέση με άλλα τετρακύλινδρα σε αυτά τα κυβικά ''βλεπε'' z750 που κάτω από τις 6000 στροφές είναι πραγματικά τάφος . Όσο για την ανεμοκαλυψη είμαι 1.82 και με τη μαμά ζελατίνα μια χαρά κάλυψη έχει. Σαν πρώην κάτοχος cbr xx μου φαίνονται ίδια όσον αφορά την ανεμοκαλυψη.
Φίλε μου , αυτά δεν είναι χλμ τουρισμού. Η fjr μου έκαιγε 6-7 λίτρα στα 160-180 χαω. Το vfr 1200 που έχω τώρα καιει μόνιμα 2 λίτρα στα 100 χλμ παραπάνω από το fjr σε όλες τις συνθήκες. Όποιες και αν είναι αυτές.
Good review and it did make me laugh. Can't agree with you assessment though as I own a VFR and love it (except the fuel consumption). Leaving in 2 days to ride from Alexandropouli to Loutraki (about 900k) and really looking forward to doing it on my VFR. Have done the journey before and the VFR was the only bike that made me feel like I never wanted the journey to end. Respect to your opinion but it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.

I ve done some reading about the v tec of vfr for the era 2003-2007.Like some people comented,the term sport touring is not so clear,so whether vfr is a sport tourimg bike or not is not that important,but anyway.
But all for all,kokkina feggaria,just give their personal view about the bike,that been said,there is no disrespect on the bike,since its clearly mentioned the legacy of the vfr applications(single arm,v tec,v4),it is mentioned that the history of vfr is something that honda should feel proud...
Now,about consumption,the years 2003 up to the 2007(with some detail changes),it was not an important factor.The driving position,it is indeed more sport than tourimg,but so it is for many other models of many other brands.The air protection of the bike might also be a bit more sport than touring,but the visor can always be changed and also the hight of the rider is an important factor...(and the body type in general),that goes for the riding position as well.
Dont know about the brakes,but honda never had a problem with breaking....
About the handling,my thought is,that the bike is a bit bulky since the radiators are located on the sides of the bike,also i think that,for touring conditions maybe the brand didnt want to give a stiff suspension adjustment.
About how the engine sounds with the exhausts,well its just a matter of taste,and all opinions are respected.
One other thing i would add to the consumption factor is that,v-tec is the reason of the high consumption after 7000rpm,but this is one of the things u pay(the v- tec,which gives the bike 2 different characters below and beyond 7000 rpm),while secondly,below 7000 rpm you ride with a touring speed and a lower consumption,if the bike is below 7000 rpm,shouldnt really be a setback cause its not,you just ride without v-tec engaged so its not that alive and sport.
For the co rider there are rear handlings,dont know why they are missing for the shot,anyway.
The bike has some sport and some touring characteristics that can never co exist one hunderd percent perfectly,but,there is none bike that they can do...
In conclusion,dont shoot the guy(not u personaly Herpules Derpinus).He has a channel,people give him bikes that he rides and shares his personal opinion with us and thats about all.Here in Greece the term fan is a bit miss understood in a wide aspect of our everyday life and we take a bit toooooo personal things needless to do so.
Εχω το vtec 2002.θα διαφωνησω σε πολλα.
πολυ ομορφο(πανω εξατμισεις ,μονομπρατσο,v4 κλπ). καταναλωση 5,5-6,2/100km με ταχυτητες ταξιδιου απο 130-150 km/h.φρενα καλα με τακακια HH,φιλτρο KN, κ με μεγαλυτερο πισω γραναζι κατα δυο δοντια ζωντανεψε πολυ!!! εχω κανει μαζι του 40000km. καλυψη καλη για να συνδυαζει τους δυο κοσμους sport κ touring κ να σκεφτεις οτι ειμαι 110 κιλα κ 1,97 υψος!!! σεβομαι την γνωμη σου αλλα διαφωνω ριζικα.Πολυ ωραια βιντεακια,συνεχισε ετσι!!!!
review does not make sense.Was one of the most reliable and usable bikes , still holds good value now and I have seen 2004 bikes with 100000+ km still looking great and running nearly as new(so your statement of money wasted makes no sense) The braking is incredibly powerful and with abs is even better, with the luggage and perhaps a replacement seat, was and is one of the best 2nd hand sport-tourer on the market The fuel consumption is normal and is one of the few bikes around, that can give you up to 300 km / tank. The only minus on this bike is the weight (which you don't mention)

this is my opinion, take it or not.
i dont really get it either, most of the reviews ive seen on the VFR800 are very positive. maybe its not perfect. but the state that its a waste of money is way over the top.
Sure I respect your opinion, just saying it's wrong :) I have been riding for 30 years (my last 2 bikes were an RSVR1000 and a K1300R) I owned a VFR VTEC ABS for 3 years and did 50K Km on it so I like to believe I know what I am talking about. That's all.

its a waste of money if you think what touring bikes you can buy in about same price.this is defenetely not a touring bike so if you buy it as touring cause honda says it is then defenetely you wasted your money

Very funny review - I love all the Kokkina Fegaria reviews (Kawasaki ZRX 1200R in special) and this one was also very positive.
I really laughed at the waste bin part, because VFR is my current bike and I love it.
However, it's very good to have counter-opinion since everyone are so in-love with VFRs.

i've seen this review before having my VFR '04. I liked the good parts and disagreed with the bad parts (in the review). Now i have my VFR for 3 years and i agree with the good parts and also with most of bad parts in the review. Yes this bike is very beautiful, it has an unique sound (like supercars with v10/boxer rear engine), it will go over 200km/h, it comes with a lot of equipment (center stand, full gauges, passenger handles -not present in video-, linked brakes, abs, 21l tank and so on). But it "drinks" too much fuel for what it offers (10l/100km in city, 5.5l/100km outside the city if you drive like an old man), position is too leaned forward, after 400km you will have strong pain in your wirsts and also your butt will hurt a lot because the seat is not confortable enough, and the bike is very heavy -not mentioned in the video-. This of course depends on how skilled you are, but while when you ride it you won't feel it, at low speed cornering and city-life between-cars dodging you will hate this bike. So yes, not recommended for city riding (too heavy, too much fuel consumed) but also not very good for long touring because of the position of riding; for rides greater than 400km/day, it is not good anymore.
I don't agree with the video on: wind protection is actually pretty good, and the passenger has actually more confort than the driver, if the bike has the stock passenger handles (not present in video) and if you install a top case - it will work as a backrest for the passenger who can choose two riding positions: upright, resting on the topcase and holding on the handles or leaned forward, hugging the driver and resting with the hands on the tank. Both work very good.
This review is interesting, As much as i respect your opinion i must disagree with most of it, I love my VFR 800 Vtec and cant wait to buy the new 2014 model. :)

All motorcycles should have suspension up-grades completed by 10 years from new at the latest.
Progressive fork-springs at the front are easy to change at home but, for rear suspension some bikes need to be on a hydraulic bench in a good workshop.
I didn’t recognize my own Vfr750f after up-grading, absolutely amazing and highly recommended.

States are different place , with diferent higways , diferent price for fuels , diferent motorcycle culture . Diferent world , specialy with 1,8 euro per 1 lt of gazoline .....
LOL! I just bought a 2007 VFR ABS. Let me assure you, there's a huge difference between the 2006 and 2007 models. ;-)

Βρε για τον συνεπιβάτη κανονικά εχει πίσω χειρολαβές, αυτο που οδήγησες δεν είχε κάτι..
Πάντως η κατηγορία "Sport Touring" δεν υπάρχει, οθτε sport είναι το vfr ουτε touring (εχω vfr) και η αλήθεια είναι οτι καμία μηχανή που υπάγεται σε αυτη την κατηγορία δεν είναι ουτε το ενα ούτε το άλλο (hayabusa,tdm κτλ) Ωραία μηχανή, με πολύ καλά υλικά και τρομερά αξιόπιστη. Στην κατανάλωση δεν την λες μπουρδέλο, αλλά σίγουρα δεν είναι καλή ή οικονομική. Τα παλιότερα σχόλια χαθήκανε με την επεξεργασία ?
I like your reviews, but this one is joke. Obviously you have some personal issuses about this one, because this bike is spending 6,5 L/100 km. Wind protection is great even on 200km/h. Its a great bike with very very good brakes. It can be all arounder it can be sport tourer, but it is not for dirt. It is kind of a bike that you dream about it even when you have it.
I respect very much the people that follow my chanel , i do meny funny thngs but i never joke with a bike ... if you think that i m wrong , go and give your money for this bike .
