- Nick and Angela welcome comedian @AislingBea to Dish HQ.
Aisling Bea is an award-winning comedian, actor and writer. She created, wrote and starred in the comedy series This Way Up on Channel 4 with Sharon Horgan. Aisling also starred in the Netflix show Living with Myself alongside Paul Rudd in 2019 and 2020, winning a BAFTA for Breakthrough Talent.
Angela prepares a tasty niçoise salad with Jersey Royals and tuna steak. The meal is paired with a Chapel Down Bacchus and Nick serves a whiskey, ginger and lime, Aisling’s favourite tipple. Hailing from the Emerald Isle, Aisling's love affair with the humble spud lends itself to some hilarious conversation. Our threesome cover comedy and embarrassing headlines, and the Dish team challenges Aisling to an after-dinner game with a difference.
This episode was released in May 2023 to celebrate the Take That musical movie, Greatest Days.

We can’t all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help.
Send your dilemmas to dish@waitrose.co.uk and she’ll try to answer in a future episode.
Dish is a S:E Creative Studio production for Waitrose
Aisling's potato game with her sister ... OMG! I'm dying.
I just finished aisling’s series of “this way up” (which is amazing) and after finishing I started watching dish, religiously, now Aisling Bea is ON Dish!
Amazing 🤩
Thank you for uploading this!! I had such a bad day today and I am so happy that I can watch this episode to cheer myself up 🎉
Yees! We're getting all the taskmaster contastants! First Kiel and now Bea! ❤️
This whole episode was gas but I lost it at ‘a pickled egg from the past’ 🤣💜
Nick looking like wheres wally.. I'm all here for this look
My god can you imagine if they got dawn french on this!? icon goals
A treat!
We like to enjoy our lasagna at home with some chips, garlic bread, and boiled potatoes on the side. And you can't forget about the generous helping of coleslaw!
Ohhh delicious ❤
Aisling is Irish, of course she eats all the potatoes! My dad has gotten into growing his own spuds (like a good Irish man he is), but isn't quite the gardener that my mum is so keeps wanting to dig them up too soon!
Love her ❤❤❤ please get romesh ranganathan on soon!
I challenge her to a potato eating competition ;-)
1000 yr old egg in Chinese cuisine isn’t really a 1000 yrs old. It’s a form of preserving / pickling the egg. It’s delicious in porridge.
Get Alex James/Damon Albarn on this!!
not Nick looking like the Blue's Clues guy 😂
Exactly what I thought 😂😂
Ikr
You are so right. He does look like Gerard Butler! What a keen observation! Good on you!!👏🏻👏🏻
~ Rugby’s are very on trend. I’m partial to the oversized, whimsical, style Nick’s chosen here.
Botter has a rugby I’m (personally) interested in.
Let me just cook some ramen from a packet, so I can eat it while watching you eat some delicious food from Angela 😂.. It's become a tradition.
Oh my G!!! I do this too!!! 😂😂😂 Tastes better somehow 😂😂😂
She's such a good sport. Honestly, you should have more Irish people on. So many are such a delight (Nicola Coughlan would be a hoot).
On a random note, I love Aisling's love for Sean Hayes... I don't have my username for nothing 😂
Aisling is a delight! Funny, smart, FUNNY, cute, talented. Great show!
Aisling is a legend. She is so brilliantly funny. 😂😂😂😂♥️♥️♥️♥️
This Angela lady....She is just freaking FABULOUS ❤
I agree!
OMG she is fabulous! And still love Angela nd Nick you guys are the BEST!
Aisling is a joy to watch! Funny, quick witted and a great storyteller like all good comedians. But also gorgeous, sweet and unaffected. Irish humour is 👌... She and her sister playing the potato game! 🤣
Love Aisling. I remember her appearance on Kimmel in her hotel bathrobe. I think that was probably to her benefit - it made her appearance especially memorable, because no one had ever done that before. I have to say, it makes me chuckle whenever celebs from elsewhere talk about being in LA. The LA that they experience is nothing like the LA that we average residents experience - they may as well be different planets.
Our prayers have been answered! I've been waiting for this video to be released and it's smashing. Nick dressed like Steve from Blue's Clues just adds to the hilarity. 😅😅
She is beautiful, intelligent a good actor but I don’t find her funny. Not hating just not for me.
Glad my Irish family isn't the only one who makes a potato side for lasagna :)
Est Europe , North Afrika ,South Mediterrean its Called "Musaka" its much better then Lasagna .Grecce and Turkey is theyr Dish
I never in my life clicked so fast on a UA-cam video
Tbh, I'd watch a show like that; a dinner party, comedians cooking for chefs, you have your presentation section, your cooking section, the dinner section and so on so forth.
Angela’s laugh is infectious!
My very tough Irish mother was a big fan of good manners and table etiquette. Although we didn't have a pot to piss in! Made sure everyone waited to eat and excusing yourself from the table etc..
I've written this elsewhere, but i'll do it again: Aisling is maybe the 'most alive' person in the world. I wonder if it's just when she's 'on,' or if it's an all day, every day thing. Love her, but she would wear me out. I'm fully on-board with the potato love, though. Fully. And something about myself that i didn't even recognize until i was in my 40s-no matter what meal is on my plate, the first bite i take is of the potato. It used to be unconscious, now it's _protocol._ // re: Los Angeles - i think it's only like that ("health+ambition") if you're only hanging with other celebs. I lived in Los Feliz for eight years after 30 in NYC and didn't find it at all overwhelming or overbearing re: health or ambition. But, maybe coming from midtown Manhattan readied me for LA? Either way, i am not healthy, and didn't gain ambition.... LA lets you live the way you want to live. Shop at Ralph's or Von's if you want. No one has to go to Whole Foods or Sarah's Beanstalkery.
Aisling B and Hozier -funniest thing I ever saw - brilliant love her!
I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen Aisling with her mask lowered - I like it!
I thought the phrase was "shall I be mother?"
In case anyone's interested and doesn't know: the reason it's Nisswahz is that salade is feminine so it's Nicoise with an e not Nicois. If salade was masculine then it would be pronounced Nisswah.
The general rule is that if a consonant is the final letter it's not pronounced (occasionally it is though) but if a vowel is the final letter the preceding consonant is pronounced (this always applies).
I love Aisling!!
Just love Aisling in everything she does ❤
Queen Bea ❤🎉
It’s my fav podcast! Keep ‘em coming! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 xx
Lovely episode with the lovely Aisling 💚 Cheers!
Aisling Bea is a star!!!
Oh wow... Once she starts talking, there's no stopping her... 😅 This is the Dish video with the most cuts I've seen so far. 😄 She's charming though.
i just love A.B
Like her. Always though she was funny but comes across as quite sharp and articulate too. I’m a fan.
She’s the so funny and also so eloquent
speaking of american… sending love from miami! love the show :)
I was eating in a pub in Killarney and the local lad at the table next to me asked for a side of mash with his fish and chips. Absolutely true.
This Way Up is hilarious, she wrote and stars in the show…great show! Hulu!
Robin Williams level wit
Why doesn't she have a chat show
please please please get Nicola Coughlan to do this show please!!!

What a treasure!
Watching in Arizona, eating a baked potato. 😂
These podcasts are never long enough should be an hour. When is Danny Dyer on ?
What does she think about immigration into Ireland. She's pro-immigration into England.
Talks too much and it's boring
You’re obviously new to podcasts
I don't find Aisling funny but I watch anyway because I like the show presenters and format
Who is she.
Her name is in the title, the description of who she is and what she does is in the first few seconds of the video. Why are you even asking the question?
Yes tell me about it lol
Oh God! Angela, don't pick your teeth with your fingers! 12:44 / 12:49 Especially when being recorded.
