The SHOCKING Reason General Grievous Didn't Use RED Lightsabers - Star Wars

- Throughout the Clone Wars, General Grievous fought with a massive array of Blue and Green lightsabers, wreaking havoc across the Galaxy and shredding almost any opponent he came up against. Grievous was initially given the first lightsaber of Jedi-Master Sif-Dyas by Count Dooku, and later began collecting many others as trophies. So why did General Grievous not collect any Red lightsabers?
So, I’m going to breakdown the full story of how General Grievous lost his collection of Red lightsabers and why it absolutely devastated him to the core.
Immediately after completing his training in Lightsaber combat with Count Dooku, Darth Tyrannus gifted the Kaleesh Warlord the original lightsaber of Sifo-Dyas, so that he could begin his work, striking fear into the galaxy for the Separatist alliance.
After this, Grievous began slaughtering anyone he could to expand his collection of lightsabers, keeping them as trophies of his brave success.
Interestingly, General Grievous did somehow manage to get his hands on a collection of blood Red, Sith Lightsaber blades, cherishing them as one of his most prized possessions.
Unfortunately for Grievous however, he was forced to become a cyborg sometime after his gathered this collection, following his brutal and horrific ship crash, putting him completely on the sidelines for a long period of time. Some time after his transformation into a cyborg however, Grievous was furious to learn that the two Dark Jedi twins named Kaa and Lii had stolen his collection of bright red, sith Lightsabers and were using them for themselves.
Grievous was soon able to locate and track down the location of the two Dark sisters, before rushing into his personal ship, the soulless one and setting course for the acidic world of Dica.
After Grievous ragefully landed his ship on the acidic planes of Dica, Grievous managed to spot the two dark Jedi, rushing towards them with rage and fury. Grievous managed to split the sisters apart, and demanded that one of them reveal their names and threatened to slaughter them both, but before either of them could answer, the two twins came together and viciously severed a part of General Grievous’ mask, with his own red lightsabers, giving them the upper hand in the fight.
Grievous however, was faithful in the training he was given by count dooku, and remained confident in his ability. Following this, Grievous was able to swiftly knock his blood red blades out of the twins’ hands and was extremely excited to be adding them back to his collection.
Much to his anger however, once they landed on the murky, acidic ground of the planet, the weapons rolled and landed in the nearby acid lake that they were fighting next to, dissolving them completely, leaving just the Kyber crystal, deep at the bottom of the lake. There was no chance of it ever being recovered because of the immense strength of the acid.This of course sent Grievous into a rageful fury and made him despise the Jedi even more than he already did, despite the two sisters being Dark Jedi.
Following this ordeal, Grievous was devastated but vowed to continue adding to his vast collection of lightsaber trophies, but with one new condition. He would now only collect the lightsabers of Jedi he had successfully slain in combat.

@@Isomeria450 Purple and white sabers were extremely rare heck the White bladed Lightsaber was unheard of for a long time. As the method of obtaining a White Crystal was lost. Purple generally were obtained by those who were strong in the Force and dangerous in duels or on the battlefield. Grievous was a good duelist but he was no match to those who could use the Force in the middle of combat. Even thrived in conflict.

He would quite literally fight with his entire collection all at once.
Fun fact, he was infused with blood of dead Jedi to try give him force powers but it only lasted a few short moments with him able to pull objects and sense all around him.
@@arkangelgaming658 That sounds usable, the Separatist can inject blood of a Jedi into Grievous everytime before a major battle, given how Grievous can kill a jedi easily without the force he will have no problem getting a continuous supply of Jedi blood

@@DraknightDragon Maybe you didn't know, but Sith are tied to the Dark Side of The Force. Being a Force User is step 1 to becoming a Sith.

When you think about it at least in legends theres a practical point as well as a symbolic one. Synthetic crystals can make the lightsaber feel unwieldy and heavier with the addition to the increased cutting power it offers in comparison to natural crystals unless modeled right. The generals spin attacks may not be as quick if he used red lightsabers, and he’s pretty much stronger than any natural being capable of wielding a lightsaber. so he doesn’t reslly need to worry about overpowering his enemies.
I cant imagine him using a double bladed lightsaber, consider him a cyborg with 2 more arms with small and less fingers on his hands idk.

Aside from wanting to dine on Ventress's posterior in that one pic, I too would have started collecting Jedi lightsabers if dark jedi stole my fine red lightsabers, if there are no Jedi, there will be no Dark Jedi to steal my new red lightsabers.

This made me think of the alternate outfit for General Grievous in the Revenge of the Sith game for Xbox. The sliver plated armor and the red sith sabers was bad ass.

My idea that he uses green and blue after the accident is to give Jedi a false eye when going around corners and luring them in, it would definitely give grievous the massive initiative if he wasn’t so loud or in the open with his mechanical body, perhaps that cloak of his can give him some form of concealment as well before adding more trophies to his collection. Honor no longer exists in a person like grievous so I don’t suppose why he wouldn’t do this.

In canon though, Grievous' first lightsaber wasn't Syf-Dyas'. Syf-Dyas' lightsaber was found by Plo Koon on the crash site where Syf-Dyas died.

I always assumed he used green and blue because he just used ones he looted from Jedi, who mainly had green and blue lightsabers. There’s not a great deal of red sabers for him to have taken.

Well.. I mean.. pretty sure in canon he didn’t have red ones because in order to have red ones you had to A. Kill a sith or B.become a sith and make the crystal “bleed” but in order to do that you have to be force sensitive. Grievous was not. He was nothing more than a broken tool of Sidious. He gained his weapons by killing Jedi and taking their lightsabers. Not really by any other measure to my knowledge.

Before I watch, this is about sith lightsaber collection stolen by dark jedi twins and he losses them in acid pit , but I think fully trained and turned dark general pong krell being ambidextrous by race aswell as a master jedi, the only jedi to prefect jarkaii mastery of form 4&6 w twin saberstaffs (hilts r twins one w 2 green one w 2 blue leaving 2 hands open to control vehicle or more weapons/ hand to hand

I got the impression it was mostly to mock the jedi by killing them with their own weapons. Also, it's not like there were a ton of sith around in this era for him to even kill.
