I remember in 2013 when this song came out and everyone was so excited, happy, and grateful that joey made a beautiful cover of this song. Now the comment section is full of hate. I love joeys version and Walk the Moon. Can't you guys just respect that joey worked hard on this and wanted to make it awesome for his viewers?

He credited Walk the Moon in the smallest way legally possible because his vlogging and his income depends on getting views and popularity, and he gets much more of both if people think he's a good songwriter, not to mention that the percentage of viewers that watch through for his talking at the end once the music fades is incredibly low.
+JesseRalts I didnt comment to argue with someone on how he credited the video. He credited it and thats all that matters. I think everyone knows that this song is walk the moons song. If walk the moon thinks he credited the song wrong they can get it removed. Its not your argument (or mine) to say if he credited this video correctly. This is UA-cam at it's best. Say what you will about the recording, but the production value on this video is top notch for an independent. The actors, the costumes, the castle and beach sets, the special effects and editing, all of thesel are no small feat. This is an excellent video.

+Ursine ComicGeek I love how it feels independent and amateur - the fantasy feels like when you're a child "playing pretend" which is only emphasized by the beach as framing device. Why are so many people hating on the singing? Who cares about autotune? It's still pretty good, but the entire point of this was the visual story being told. If Joey wanted to do a straight-up cover he could have just taped himself recording, but instead he created a story world where a short, mini epic could be told. Great job to all involved - I love Walk the Moon, I love their video (both of them share a feeling of childlike joy and wonder), but I can definitely give praise to this as a completely different endeavor.

I love the way this was posted in 2013, yet people still feel the need to attack it. If you don't like it leave, there's no need to write so much hate about it, people are allowed to have an opinion but don't use your opinion to hurt others. I personally don't listen to Walk The Moon, but since this came out I have loved this cover and don't feel the need to listen to the real version :')

Personally, this is way worse than the original, you can tell he has auto tuned most of this, he didn't credit Walk The Moon properly all he done was put it right at the bottom of his description, and I have listened to WTM for nearly 4 years now and the original is WAY better

She was so happy for him to make this and we use to always listen to this song when we played Minecraft together. 😔 She loved Joey so much, I don't know if she still does.
