Hi i know i'm watching this a bit later than you posted. But your the first person i have heard talk about if they ask about allergies. I have a severe Nut allergy myself since i was born and carry an eppipen at all times but never had to use it. Would this still be okay for me to teach as its never stopped me before from travling and working? I'm just curious if you would know how epik would take it? Thank you for this video!!
Hey! Okay so they really care more about whether or not your allergy will hinder your ability to teach appropriately. Since this won’t be an issue for you in the classroom you can literally just treat it as a need to know, and just inform your school just in case they get food and it might have traces of nuts (also just in case in the rare occasion that you are unable to assist yourself someone will be able to). Short answer? No your allergy won’t make Epik not take you 😊 Although if you do want to know anything about how Epik handles allergies and/or chronic illnesses you can also check out Tayler with an E she has an autoimmune disorder but she’s been teaching here for +/- 4 years 🤗 Thank you for your question 🌻
@@NkatekoMdaka OHHH ~ Thank you so much for your in depth reply I really appreciate it!! Yes, my allergy has no impact on me teaching, working or anything really. And of course I always planned to tell who ever I’m working with how to deal with it incase it does ever happen!! I actually just watched Tayler with an E talk about her autoimmune disorder, it’s very inspiring to me. Thank you again for your assistance 🥺 I really appreciate it as no one really has spoken about allergies before!!
New subscriber here. Thank you for this - I’m busy preparing my documents and I can really agree that it’s almost like Mission Impossible 😫🤣 but, worth it. I’ve been thinking about this for almost 2 years now and, I’m ready to go in. All the best
All the best to you!! Can’t wait to have you in Korea too. It’ll all feel worth it in the end, you literally feel an immense peace and just feel good once you’re done with everything and you’re here 😄 Godspeed on your application
Thank you for this! I have my interview on Sunday. I have a time conflict that has come up when orientation probably starts. Is there a good time during the interview to inform of such things and ask if I can come later?
Congratulations on your interview!! I have no doubt it’ll go well 🌻🌻 Yes! They’ll ask you if you have any questions this is when you can inform them and they’ll advice on how you can find a work around. You can also wait till you’re 100% sure you’ve got the job and then send them an email to ask if you can join orientation a little later
@@NkatekoMdaka I actually have one more question and this comes from you saying “give me a job around 3:15. So I’m naturally kind of silly, is it okay to show our personality or should we be ultra professional no humor with our answers?
Hey! 🌻 It’s okay to show your personality that way they’ll have an idea of where they can place you (elementary, middle or high school) but of course keep it professional, maybe keep the jokes and humour out of the interview but keep your personality in so you’re placed in a space where you feel most comfortable and your personality can best come work 😊🌻 When I said that, I didn’t say it to the interviewer 😂 I was just saying it for the purpose of this video.
Hey babe, No I didn't pay my agency. If an agency requests payment please don't pay them as it might be a scam. Legit agencies get paid by the Korean government. My letters of recommendation came from my previous employer as well as a character reference from a mentor that has worked with me previously
I really hope you the best🤗 my dream is also to teach Eng in Korea and I'm from India can you please tell me that what degree required for teaching Eng in Korea and I liked to be around with children's so I wish I can get to teach children's..please help me to answer this question🙂
Thank you! EPIK teachers must be citizens of one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, or South Africa. Although under the CEPA agreement, Indian citizens are eligible for positions if they meet all other requirements and hold a teacher's license in English. So yes, if you’re Indian from one of the above mentioned countries or from India and have a teachers license obtained in English you may apply 🌻 I hope this helps.

I’m glad it’s helped you 😊🌻 you’re also welcome.
The fact that your allergy doesn’t hinder your ability is something they’ll definitely hold on to 🌸
