Noel was the real genius behind this. Making a game of complete chance which in reality could’ve been a 10 minute show of people just opening boxes a huge success. This was afternoon TV at it’s finest.
To be honest it was all down to Noel and ITV should have begged him to come back from New Zealand to present their version which doesn’t even come close to Channel 4’s
I've always wondered how it works out for the remaining players. They didn't get their game or are they aware that they are not guaranteed a game and are there as part of the show. I think I've worded that right! Still a sad day. Nothing lasts forever but I definitely miss deal or no deal on the TV.
What a brave brave woman , i couldnt handle going home with only £750 .i always lose 50/50 bets , so id probably ve said Deal n gone home with £66,666 66,000
Bar the spoilers for this game, that jackpot win came out of absolutely nowhere. She never seemed like a big gambler while she was on the wings (she usually put her deal light on at 8 or 5 box) or during the game, and even when she no dealt at 5 box it seemed like she was influenced by the occasion and was surely going to deal a reasonable offer (which the £66,666 certainly was!) should the jackpot stay to the end. What a way for the show to go out, though I can't help but to think this jackpot win was actually the nail on the coffin for the show. Rumor was they were considering doing more On Tour shows, but they ended up scrapping them, and in an interview Noel said one of the logistical problems of the show was an unexpected jackpot win putting Channel 4 well over budget, which this game almost certainly was!
I'm so sad Deal or No Deal is not on anymore, but then again it went for 11 years and possibly had to come to an end sooner or later like all good television should before it gets boring. I mean look at The Chase.... 😴 Should have finished in 2018!! They repeat episodes of it from 2016!!!!
It's been annouced that a reboot has more or less been given the go ahead, unfortunately though Noel would not return as presenter if it goes ahead. I would post a link to the article on it, but sadly SOME HIGHER-UPS won't let me.
But saying that about The Chase, Bradley has other programs to flim, like Blankety Bank, Beat The Chasers, Cash Trapped and Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, this is why there's not always brandnew episodes of The Chase anymore!!
@@idrinkmilk282 in germany, when they tried to bring Deal or no deal back in the 10's, the first participant had 100000€ and 250000€ left with the final offer and won the 250000€ :DDD (The new try never got successful and was quickly thrown away again, mostly because of the host change) I still miss this show no matter where.
The show burned itself out. Remember it aired daily and went through over 3,000 editions. Viewers got bored with it by around 2014. The show reached its peak around 2010 when it had 4 million viewers per day. By 2015/16 it had plummeted to under 500,000 a day watching. Also BBC One and ITV competing with Pointless, The Chase and Tipping Point did not help the show either. Noel also felt after a decade on air, he was getting a bit bored with it. The show was really milked to death. Around 2006/07 they were on air nearly every day including weekends. Then prime time specials, celebrity specials. It had simply burnt itself out and needed to end, otherwise it would have caved in.

It wasn’t Noel who made the show. It was a Dutch game show originally.
Noel needs to teach Stephen
The guy who won the penny was the last recorded one they did on tour. But they chose to use this as the last episode.
Smart decision on Channel 4’s part. Don’t want to end the series on a downer.
Where was the episode where the guy who won 1p was filmed on tour?
It's amazing how many new friends you can make by opening a box. 😂😂
Strange how this happened on the last episode.....
Apparently the guy who won the penny was the last winner but they showed this one last. I have no problem with that. It was an epic way to go out
Vicky from Glasgow is a WINNER

So if this was the final ep, what happened to all the other players waiting to play? surely they should have their turn too?

Not to mention he scheduled a new show "sell or swap" afterwards. Which flopped so badly at the 1st episode, not a single recording was archived.
Must be hard to budget for a show like DonD, if you have a player pick the £250k box and they have the guts to go for it what can you do!
I thought 66k was a rubbish offer, but then I always remember Jennifer getting offered 120k for the same configuration in the early days.

Because channel 4 did not want any more episodes
