I browsed UA-cam for so many videos of how to create rails and pipes and similar objects, and only your video helped me to learn it the proper way. You certainly deserve more subscribers. Thak you 25games. I wish you may assist me to improve my developing abilities even more, in order that I can create and launch my very own video games for my business.
Great tutorial! I was trying to figure out how to do a bundled object (like bundle fruit or bundled wheat) that would have various bulging deforms. This nails it!
@@25games I'm an ex stop-motion animator, using various CG applications since the 80's. I'm not a salaried teacher, (although I would like that.. I'm a bit old :) ) I help out at the local FabLab, and answer questions on Blender Stack Exchange, along with my personal projects. BSE's @moonboots recommended one of your videos to a user there, which turned me on to your channel. I think it's actually quite hard to find tutorial videos which concisely address the topic in the title, without wandering off into side-issues, or the entire prerequisite set-up. Also, you appear to be bothered to learn how to do something yourself, before considering yourself qualified to teach others, and if there are aspects you don't know, you ask! Good plan. :)
Alt+S does not alter Weight, but Radius. If you hit N and go to the Sidebar, you will be able to alter Weight, which, though, doesn't have any effect on Curve objects.
Thanks for the info, I just started to play with this feature of blender recently to make neat hair. But I couldn't figure out how to lower the resolution of the vertical edge loops of the polygons. Helps a lot thanks.
Thanks, on my 2.9 Blender the normals (fish bones) are off by default. Open the Overlays dropdown (next to the shading options at top right) and the checkbox is bottom left.
Great Vid really helped me out alot. Im not sure if you have already but can you please do a "How to create teeth/mouth" or Maybe a "How to create eyes" tutorial as well?? Im really new to 3D modeling.
Do you know how to reset the vertex weight back to 1 after scaling the whole curve? I scaled a curve up but want the bevel to still be the same size as the original bevel object.
Call up the side menu with 'N' and enter the 'Item' slot. There you find Radius value. 'Alt+S' shortcut actually influence this Radius value here. Check out the other ancor point values for their Radius.
Maybe you haven't created a second curve so far? Or maybe you have created an mesh instead of an curve. It is possible to create an mesh > cyrcle... but this will not work! It has to be curve > cyrcle!
Thank u for the tutorial. How can I make a curve that looks like a capsule? I mean the start and the end of the curve to be sphere not like this one which is a circle..
@@25games someone taught me to put an extra vertex near the end vertex and play around with the radius to make them more like a sphere(make the very last one like 0.0001 and the next to the last one 1). It's not really ideal but it made the result I wanted
You can create multiple curves but can't join them. If you want to do that then you need to transform the shape to a mesh and use join or boolean to combine shapes.
I got stuck after 1 minut :( my cirkel did not show up when using the bevel/obejct thing... :( i did what you did but without the circle, i just changed the depht. But how do i get volume so i can start modelling some details on to it`?
Hey. You need the bezier curve + the circle. Select the curve, go to object data properties > geometry > Bevel > Object and select there the circle. Then you shoulg get volume on your curve. To edit the volume you need to do an rightclick on object mode and select 'convert to mesh'.
2:42 The "Alt+S" shortcut is not doing anything, I can see the tool creating the line and the cursor but no matter how I move it, it does not change the thickness.
The "circle" isn't a mesh object. It needs to be a curve object as well. If you click on the bevel/taper input field you will get a list of valid object you can select. This is the solution to your problem.
Hey. Are you sure that you imported an curve and not a mesh? You are able to create a circle Shift A > Mesh > Circle as well... But it have to be a bezier curve. Prss Shift A > Curve > Circle
mhm. I can't figure out your problem. I tried it again >> create new bezier curve > edit mode > select your wanted ancor points both > rightclick > subdivide. Which Blender Version do you have?
Probably you have '2D' selected in the Object property section. Under Shape you can choose between 2D and 3D. When 2D is selected, then you don't see those arrow display.
@@25games i realized what i did wrong. i was using a mesh circle rather than a bezier circle. when using the mesh circle, it wouldn't show up on the object list when trying to bevel.

Why you can bevel a curve in blender? Doesn't the bevel mean making fillet or chamfer to an edge ? What is the inner logic behind curve beveling?
I use blender 2.79 because my laptop is outdated. But is there any way you can do this in blender 2.79? (Turning it to mesh)
In Blender 2.79 you have to press 'Alt+C' to call up the 'Convert to' panel and select 'Mesh from Curve/Meta/Surf/Text'
when i rotate using a ankor point it rotate the whole object rather than just the ancor? do you know how to change this?
how do i scale point in the curve on a single axis? Alt+S scales all axis
