Another reason for men not to get married!
No fault divorce never did and will never take the nastiness out of it! In an acrimonious situation, all it does is allow the peson who wants to split to feel better about their decision and leaves the person left feeling even more angry!
It helps women to get out of abusive situations
Very complex….but the elephant in the room is to examine in an equal society, why women get half of what you own and you can get denied access to your kids?

No fault divorce will not remove the nastiness out of divorce. I am a lawyer that works in the area of family law in Australia, and we have a no faults system. The nastiness just finds a new direction.
When money or children are involved it will never be acrimonious

As a 55 year old man I can think of one EXCELLENT reason for getting married.......Er, hang on, I meant one excellent reason for buying a Ferrari if you can afford it. As for getting married? FUCK THAT SHIT!!!
Family lawyers want it because it's good for business and you can't protect yourself prenuptial agreements can be thrown out.
That's funny because as a one who works in the legal industry, I know for a fact that for every application, affidavit and appearance we make for our client, we get to charge on it. So the longer the suit, the more bucks we can make which is exactly what a contentious fault finding divorce will be.
No fault divorce is quick, fast and can be done without a lawyer if you know how it works which is honestly not that hard.

You have got to be kidding me...take the nastiness out of divorce it certainly will not... it just leaves the partner who in the case of infidelity off the hook. If you have a spouse who was unfaithful and decides to leave on a whim and the other spouse if blind sided, the spouse who is wrong should get the better end of the deal...you all are making a big mistake on this one. @@gwangi64 not unless you have a lawyer to go over everything and she will agree with writing her own prenups so both spouses will have their own separate prenups. She can't then go and say that she is force into it when she also has a prenup in which he the husband had to sign as well. If this was mention in court, the guy can also say that he was force into it as well by the wife.
That's why you can still get married without entering into a contract with the government.

As if women aren't already massively empowered by the Laws and family courts to kick their husbands to the curb. All this does is incentivise faithless wives to act with impunity knowing that it doesn't matter what their husbands say or do, they can decide on a whim to end their marriages and take the men to the cleaners. Have 2 pre nups. One from the man to female and the other female to male. They both say the same thing on how assests are divided. She cannot say she was pressured because she has one for you. It's getting to the point where marriage is just a money maker for everyone except the man.
I find it very niave that anybody thinks divorce can be less nasty and easier etc etc, there will always be blame, people will get upset at any percieved injustice...there is no such thing as a painless divorce.
How about if 2 people no longer find each other attractive, no longer have any obligations to each other then ? It happens.

Divorce is now much more accessible and the taking of marriage vows have been devalued. Par for the course in 2022 which has become a throwaway culture. If they thought a lot of people were shunning marriage now expect this to rise significantly when people realise they can lose their house on a whim now. Only way to protect yourself fully and that is to NOT get married. Pre-nups can be overruled by a judge so what’s the point?

When a marriage has broken down there seems no sense in dragging the divorce process on and on, the only people who win are the lawyers. There are more checks and regulations to adopt a puppy than goes into the process of embarking on marriage. Perhaps if we had more checks before marriage we wouldn't have as many divorces.

My question is, what is the point of marriage then if one can leave it just like that, I thought "till death us do part" meant something?
Given that most (63%) of the divorces are initiated by women in the UK and in the US among college educated women this number jumps to 90%, what are the incentives for men to marry?
I know some say tax breaks but it's far cheaper for the man to share or even live on his own especially with remote working.
No wonder many of my unmarried friends here in the UK say they'll love and have children but will never get married.
I got married at 21 and been married for 12 years now and thank God my marriage doesn't follow these rules lol.

There should be a screening out process for those getting married in the first place.

Women usually have good reasons for the divorce like being beaten or cheated on, maybe being given AIDS from a philandering husband. A few big cases of wealthy women getting big settlements skews the data. Most women are just glad to be free of an abuser. Some of the biggest abusers continue the abuse even after the divorce. The man almost always has the most money, more lawyers, the legal system, and the police on their side.
@@JK-ff6zc 2. Alimony, at least in the form temporary spousal support is awarded in 95% of cases and it is men who pay in 97% of those cases. Not to mention nost of the costs of her attorneys as well.
@@JK-ff6zc 3. Women cheat at the same rates as men and now are ahead of men in terms of acquiring and passing on stds. So it is men who run the risk of contracting diseases from women. By the way, in the entire US, there is only one domestic violence shelter for men whereas men are more than 10 times likely to be abused by a woman and not report it.
