In last vlog i explored Harsil Valley also covered Lama Top Trek as well including Baghori Village. In this village i covered Gartang Gali,Lanka Bridge ,Gangotri Dham, Surya Kund as well.
The Gartang Gali cliff-side hanging-stairway, also known as the Gartang Gali bridge, spans 500 metres along a vertical ridge at 11,000 feet in the Nelang river valley. It was constructed in traditional native style, initially by Pathan traders from Peshawar, serving as a Silk Road trade route between Tibet and India.
Lanka Bridge(Highest bridge of Uttarakhand).This bridge lies between Dharali and Gangotri.This bridge is at the height of 9200 ft above sea level.
Gangotri is a town and a Nagar Panchayat (municipality) in Uttarkashi district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is 99 km from Uttarkashi, the main district headquarter. It is a Hindu pilgrim town on the banks of the river Bhagirathi - the origin of the river Ganges. The town is located on the Greater Himalayan Range, at a height of 3,100 metres (10,200 ft). According to a popular Hindu legend, the goddess Ganga descended here when Shiva released the mighty river from the locks of his hair.
Surya Kund is a spectacular waterfall in Gangotri, located 500 metres from the Gangotri Temple. Suryakund holds religious significance as it is believed that Goddess Parvati used to take a bath here, paying homage to the Sun God. A rainbow is created every time water falls down into the kund while the sun in shining.
