Severe thunderstorms brought both white-knuckle driving and scenes of immeasurable beauty to Badlands National Park on Sunday afternoon. The storms, which were warned for 60mph winds and quarter-sized hail, impacted tourists who were visiting the national park. Undeterred by the weather, those who stuck through the rain were treated to a vibrant rainbow over the badlands formations, adding a striking contrast of color to the landscape. High winds behind the cold front made travel on I-90 troublesome for high-profile vehicles, including a wind turbine that was being transported with pilot vehicles.
Package includes:
Vibrant rainbow over Badlands National Park
Badlands National Park sign
Driver POV of heavy rain and lighting
Tourists enduring the elements
Timelapses of mammatus and storm clouds over badlands formations
That’s beautiful!!!
