Omg, you SAVED me! Although I purchased my Toyota Corolla in 2018, I had one key fob I never used. It was in my file as a back up. I just went to use it and it didn’t work. I tried other recommendations on UA-cam but none of their suggestions help me. Your help has been tremendous and I won’t have to go to the Toyota dealer now or buy another key fob, thank you! thank you! thank you!
Pro Tip. If the steps in this video do not work open it up again and with a small screwdriver get underneath the contacts and pry them upward so battery contact improves. I did this voila FOB was restored.
Almost ALL cars don't have keys that go into the ignition anymore. This is supposedly 11 month old info? I need to resync mine and no place to stick key?
Hi ladies, I’m a little late but hopefully this helps someone down the road - push button ignition vehicles usually have a key slot in the dash storage, on the passenger side, pointed toward the center of the vehicle.
Most (if not all) key fobs have an actual key inside the fob itself. I don't know if it's always the case, but it's likely the key ring loop. There would be a switch or button which is used to release the key. It varies from brand to brand.
@trcbyatch having a key isn't the problem, we are talking about cars that don't use a key to start. We have push button ignitions. You push a button and the car starts. There's no place to put a key. The key hidden in the FOB unlocks the door.
Get in car ,locking door,Putting key in and out 6 times..then turn ley to acc spot in ignition and take it out and tried it and it popped the trunk.so it worked it locks and unlocks doors!!😊 But i didn't see any light flashing anywhere.. AND ANOTHER THING THE FIRST THING YOU SAID TO DO WORKED BUT FOR SOME REASON IT DIDN'T TAKE..IT WOULD QUIT WORKING AGAIN... HOPEFULLY THIS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK..THANK YOU!!if you don't hear back from me,it kept working 😅Thxj again
We don’t have a ignition slot for out 2020 wrangler. We figured out that the key fob was cold. We were on a trip to Utah and live in FL. My hubby put it in his arm pit and it warmed it up.. lol. Also by holding fob to starter push button it started it also.
Thanks, my wife alerted me to not being able to lock her Mitsubishi ASX with the key fob remote button. I went and got new batteries and replaced them in both sets of keys. I tried your methods with no success, only to find she had not shut the tailgate properly. To her credit the door open light was not showing on the instrument cluster. I slammed the tailgate shut and problem fixed. Oh well, at least the batteries are new now.
Thank you 🙏 My key stopped working last night - the dealer replaced the battery and still no go - nor did the spare - Just went out now - opened and slammed shut the boot (tailgate -boot here - I'm in Australia) - and lo and behold it worked again. Yippeeee
I replaced the battery several times and none worked. I took it to Nissan Dealers Parts counter where they have a test meter that shows if the FOB is putting out a signal. It showed no signal from the FOB. They replaced the battery and it worked fine. Same CR2025 but Nissan part. I have no explanation but that's what happened.
Work this one out... UK Kia Picnato 2022 smart keyless entry/start. Keyfob battery low so starting to fail to open doors and start car unless touched against stop/start button. 1) Put in brand new CR2032, checked high state of charge at 3.3V - no luck, little light on fob not even flashing and car cannot be opened. 2) Rechecked everything inc inspect fob for wear or damage (none found) and cleaned fob internal contacts with rubber and electrical contact cleaner, battery also - no luck, little light on fob not even flashing and car cannot be opened. Duff keyfob? 3) Tried same new battery in spare keyfob - same no luck, little light on fob not even flashing and car cannot be opened. Neither keyfob working with new battery so must be a duff battery somehow? 4) Tried another brand new CR2032, checked high state of charge at 3.3V in both fobs - same no luck, little light on fob not even flashing and car cannot be opened. What! Two brand new duff batteries, really? 5) Tried an old CR2032, checked med-low state of charge at 3.1V in both fobs - success, both fobs working as they should. 6) Rechecked both brand new CR2032s, visually perfect, all dimensions same as original battery. 7) Tried both brand new CR2032s in another car's fob - work perfect. What!!! Makes no sense. How can 2 verified working Kia fobs be tried with 2 brand new batteries of the correct spec not work but the batteries work fine elsewhere??? No, I am not making any of this up!
My key fob quit working in my Toyota 2005. I’ve tried everything to fix it unable to. I was wondering if maybe you could help me fix it thank you sorry about my last message.
@@mangkepweng7240 no , you insert, turn to the ignition, hold for about 2 seconds and turn off and you repeat this process a few times. (the video was more specific) and then on the last time you turn to the ignition you click the lock button and it works with the car
If you hold the electronic key right next to the push button even if the keys battery is dead it will start. The electronic key has a transmitter. Has to be right next to the button with foot on break. It will start the car so you can get to the store and buy a new battery. Also when you get the battery don't put it in upside-down like I did. 😅

Thank You this worked
After trying 2 battery replacements, this totally worked!! Thank you
We got you!
Thanks, your instructions worked! After changing the battery you have to reprogram the FOB/vehicle connection.
Thank you your advice worked. I turned the key several times in the ignition without actually starting the car and voila the fob engaged again.
Score!
I don't have an ignition key, but thanks. Your advice wasn't good enough, but better than most.
You DO have a key. It's inside the fob.
What about for push button start?
That's a smart key
@@justinwright1328Not very smart if it stops working just because the battery was changed.🤔🤪
Some buttons actually pull out and there's a key slot inside
I’m so happy that I found this video. It really saved me from spending my money.
Oh my gosh it worked !!”I reprogrammed by turning the key on and off until it chimed! Thank you!!!

One of the replies said that there's a key slot in the glove compartment on the side facing the steering wheel.

thank you very much for these tips, I just tried and was able to have my key fob working again after 5 months of manually opening and closing 😀🤣
Nice!
Thanks for your clip. I reprogrammed my key fob and it works now. It would cost me so much money to replace the key. 🙏 🙏 Thanks
So lock door place key in ignition. How you expect to do that when there is no slot for key ignition.
With some cars you can pull out thee ignition switch button. Pull it out then you will see a slot for a key.
Gurl!! You are amazing !
Thanks for the tip😆I got inside the car with the key and did your steps
All good ! Now works ! Yay!! 😊
This is such a truly helpful video. Thank you!
You're welcome!

true, same here
There will be a key lock somewhere. Will be recessed and probably behind a flap

I have a 2024 tundra and the key is not working what I can do just buy this truck
Just insert the key 10X? No pushing the key fob? OMG i'm confused if i believe you or not😅😅😅😅
