I don't know if it's only me that steph should be a part of every women centric movies, her reaction on this kind of movies are really fun.

instead i feel like males should watch this movie rather than any female they need to understand things more than her, so i think these two did better. Steph is okay too but she aint that necessary for this movie reaction.

I really don't think that's a very inclusive thought. And that was the whole point of this movie as well. A man went out of his way to help women and no one supported because it's just "women problem". So two men watching this and learning something is equally important. It's not like Women should watch all women centric and men should watch all men centric that's not how the world works now
MEN SHOULD WATCH THIS MOVIE
To the people who don't know- twinkle khanna actually wrote this story in one of her books before this was made into a movie, and the scene where he tries the pad on himself is a lot different in the book. In the book he actually uses the pad on a dog and while using, the blood leaks and his clothes get dirty. So he removes his clothes to wash them, but at the dame time someone comes there and sees the protagonist without clothes, and both the dog and him covered in blood. It looks like he was f*cking that dog and thats when he leaves the village...

I dont know about this tradition in a particular region of India but in odisha(one of the eastern state of India) some hindu community people celebrate their daughter's first menstruation and organize some kind of ceremony. My friend also have invited me in that ceremony.
Yes they celebrate it the first three times (in my state) and then for the rest of our lives we are untouchables

The thing that it took him so long to realize that you should try it on urself before giving it to so many women & make them embarrassed is a bit unrealistic to me, i know the society was pretty backward but still after 2 or 3 failures with his wife he should start trying on himself
But movie director still decided to make the character create some more mess is just to highlight the struggle that see much hate he's getting!! & may be for some comic scenes
a man would not think to try it himself, that's ok. but him creeping at night to other kids house, that's a bit unrealistic, but movie is still dope

The reason to eat separately USED TO BE that we are that pure.
Our ancestors understood PMS, our hormones, our vibrations. For our own peace nobody was to force us to eat with them, & be impacted by their aura interfering with our divine vibrations at the time.

Scientifically women need to be closer to the baby for atleast 6months.

Not having to do ANY WORK & just rest was supposed to be for our comfort.
❌️ Not cuz we cooking their food will make it "impure".
We were untouchable so that we are NOT bothered in PMS, let to rest.
Washrooms in huge bungalows & in villages were far away. In such bleeding condition, we were allowed to rest. So, initial bath had DEEP sanitization process.
Even in 2023 we still do it (Anitseptic turmeric, oil for head peace, Kajal for eye peace).
So that we don't catch any infection.
3 days later we, have a deep sanitization process.
(Although we can easily shower in attached bathrooms now).
❌️That's NOT cuz we're impure (as it is twisted & perceived today!!)
✅️But because WE need to be protected from virus, etc, as women are more vulnerable to catching infection in periods!
No. Out on the floor was a little too orthodox. Dating back to 1920s. I've never been subjected to that. But they do say sleeping on "masina" cot like thing has some health benefits. Not just on floor. Last 2 weeks I slept deliberately just like that, & I did feel better. Not sure. But that's more about not needing to clean mattresses etc. Pads weren't there then.

From being treated like a goddess, you're suddenly robbed of your own dignity when people call you "impure".
Making her HAPPY was the intention. Not sad. Which is literally opposite.
Also the reason women were not allowed in kitchen and do chores because that's the only holiday they used to get whole month but with time it changed to something about pure and inpure
Actually periods were never a taboo or impure in our culture and society before the invasions, our ancestors were very very open minded in all aspects including this. Even there are many temples with sexual sculptures craved on them for sex education. Places that were invaded for a smaller time period don't have these menstruation taboos even today as they follow the pre-invasion Hinduism here free of taboos & judgemental mindsets.
Exactly, in some South Indian states people celebrate a girl's first period like a birthday party whereas in north india we can't even talk about menstruation to our father, brother or any male in our family(nowadays this mostly happens in rural areas but urban india is not really very much better)

I don't know why these things are given the name of tradition as in earlier times there was no pad for women so women had to use cloth but then it became a habit for village women and then it was given as a tradition

Just to be clear it's just made up by people...In ancient India there used to be a celebration in village when a girl had her periods for the first time...In our scriptures it's not considered taboo infact there's a temple of Devi kamakhya dedicated to it.... It's just people stopped reading scriptures and made these things up themselves and and because of the invasion of Mughals people stopped celebrating it as those Mughals used to abduct girls who were sexually matured enough
