Skater xl players here? I switched over to session and my god it’s the same thing just with sooooo much more meat on the bones and the stat menu is finalllyyyyyyy here I love this game. Hardcore since day 1 and I’m just starting to get lines flowin.. barely lol😅
I switched over to Session after getting a new laptop and I’d say the game is better, since the devs put alot of effort into everything. Skater XL is nice and easy to mod, but if you compare both vanilla versions of each other together, Session comes out on top
Anyone notice the tre flips for regular stance you have to like a full 360° roll with the right stick but nollie or laser flips are just a half/180° roll
Shitz Fun ans Hard AF. You have to really just have to feel out the controls to understand esp when riding goofy. Thanks for the grind tutorial tho. Hard AF to line up w the triggers. but i'll get used to it hopefully lolz
Do a trick tip video how to come off grinds and slides in middle of curbs. And also popping off technique as well. Havent seen any good tutorial for those. Also some earlier tips doesnt seem to work now for those in these newest updates
A lot of the landings looks a bit wonky, like both trucks are tapping the ground at different times instead of landing at the same time - is this a ‘skills’ issue og a game issue? :) Great video as always!
He keeps saying “quarter circle with the right stick” and all I get is heel flips and kick flips every time, with a random hard flip here and there. So frustrating.
I went into options-> gameplay ->flip trick settings and changed "scoop input mode" to small. Been able to do 360 flips again with a little more consistency. Still rotating the full way though. Hopefully this helps you guys too.
thanks for this :) I'm still really struggling with session , im very good in skaterxl but in session I feel like a total beginner. the controls don't feel as smooth and flowy as with skaterxl .. I still don't get how to get into tail slides or 270 out, just the turning in session feels so weird and awkward.. any tips on that ? I hope the future wil be good for session when they make animation smoother and finetune everything
This game's controls really hurt my brain. Having to rely heavily on analog sticks is a bit touchy. Half the time I want to use RT/LT as a car and not to turn my body like a weirdo.
You’ll find a better game than XL on console here… though there isn’t much to do outside of free roam it’s still the best feeling skateboarding game we’ve ever had. Also, built in stats menu.
Yeah grinds are different for sure. Reverts and grinds feel more simplified in session. (Goofy FS tail slide is left stick left - in XL I do L< and R>) But turn on click to catch and brace for impact and it brings a new level to skating gaps/stairs
pressure is left-bottom or right-bottom, not just left - official manual and trick list also get it wrong, kept me trying the first pressure mission the whole afternoon
Dude I just dont get it. I can do 360 heel so easily but it always wants to do a varial kick same with 360 shuv the same direction it only wants to shuv it.
Been skating on and off for the last 7 years and I can tell you Sessions is the closest thing to street skating mechanics wise, Skate by EA still good game but it's too unrealistic and Sessions kinda set the boundary between what it's possible and impossible, if they add verts and mega ramps mechanics in the future Sessions would be pretty much the perfect skate simulator.

ive gotten really good at default and im just starting to do hardcore mode and HOLY BALLS that difficulty curve is immense

In early access I could do every trick. Now in 1.0 I can't do a tre flip or laser at all. I don't have it on small.
I watch this and try to repeat and it feels like im missing something but im sure its just timing

After about 55 tries I finally got a laser flip even with the explanation on how to do it.. idk why but the input the game has is SLOWWWWW
The hardest thing to me is to lock it good any tip for that?
Why sometimes when I do Smith I accidentally do Suski instead it and Crook instead Willy?
Is it possible to change controls so flip tricks can be done with the right stick only?
not anymore, Session did have a "skate 3 controls" option but took them out for this 1.0 release for some reason
